I just don't understand the attachment to a piece of electronics where people find it necessary to defend it when others are having legitimate problems and express their opinion. Granted, this is only a single sentence, but I'm seeing him post on every negative thread, and the only reason behind posting it is to try and instigate.

I really thought we were past this, and seeing the board once again regress to the "us against them (problem-free HR20 vs problem full-HR20)" mentality is truly unfortunate, and brings this forum down below the standards for which it was intended.

    My opinion.

    Lancaster,...
I got a good laugh when I saw these two virtually adjacent posts. I for one for NO for build 120. I've had a few problems with it.. waiting eagerly for the next one.

The title was intentional on my part to match the other, but then I realized that it may not be apparent...

But I agree with another poster about reliability being number 1 - There's a big difference in experience and enjoyment of the programming that I actually like. Case in point is 24 and Heroes same time slot, watch one record the other. But when the pictures goes to heck in the middle, I also knew it was affecting the recording. Just couldn't enjoy either one of them, had to switch to SD and missed some spots.

This week was totally different, and I was able to enjoy both shows in HD, the way they were meant to be.

Did I just see something about another update in the pipeline? Uh oh... :)

Clearly there is a loose nut on the remote for certain folks. :D

OK....fact is...the answer to your question would resolve all issues for everyone. :)

Maybe you need to read the title of THIS thread, it is for posters that believe that the 120 build is the best ever. You should go back to the other thread, the one for the people with problems really.

BTW, I don't see how people posting good things are in any way saying that some others are not having issues/problems. Not sure I understand why it would bother you so much that the majroity are NOT having real issues - that actually should be encouraging IMO.

There are a handful of folks here who are just looking to argue their negativity points at every turn. It's a shame -- your points are well taken.

Just as there are some who take every opportunity to tell us how they have no problems. ;)

It will all go away when the problems do.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about....yet another post attempting to instigate.

I should "go back to the other thread?":nono2:

No change in reliability for me with 120. Mine's been solid from day one (except for some dropouts when using trick play on live OTA broadcasts).

I have had no problems to speak of with 110,115 and 119 I always thought the other people were doing somethig wrong. Then I got the HR20 Flu. Now I know how they felt.

    Hope tonights download fixes everything.

Sounds fair. As long as you agree to stop posting in problem threads, if your HR20 is trouble free. :eek2:

Because it's got bad hardware. Probably bad power supplies.

Uhhhhhh....nope. Intermittent power issues don't explain 90% of the reported issues folks are having.

For those who do like 120, you'll probably like the next National release even better, as the interim beta firmware seems to be fixing yet more reported issues. Hopefully, this can lead to a new update most folks like soon. :)

Look, anybody has the right to post in any thread they want! There is no need for everyone to be barking at each other!

Let's just try to agree on something, that there are people who are having problems with the HR20, and there are people who are not! There realy is no need for someone to post in a POS thread "mine has worked fine since day one what's wrong with YOU?"

After all, the main purpose here is to help people thru thier problems, isn't it?

Why wouldn't it? Wouldn't intermittent power issue effect hard drive performance? In turn causing bad writes to the hard drive, in turn causing corrupt or blank screen recordings!

I am no expert, but my understanding was the bad power was a major factor in hard drive failures, am I misinformed?
