The OP only averages 0.02 posts per day, so we're looking at almost two months before he comes back to respond!

It is very commonplace in my home for my parents' SD feed to be slightly ahead of my HD (DVR) feed. Their living room is next to my den and they like to jack up the volume on their TV. When we're watching the same channel, the video and audio on my TV (or receiver) is normally 1 to 2 seconds behind theirs. Only in rare cases is my TV is ahead of theirs.

And I'm referring to the same channel/same feed.

What do you mean the HD and SD feed from LiL channels are the same feed.
Is one not HD while the other is SD?

The SD feed is derived directly from the HD feed, since the local station is not sending out an SD feed at all. So while they're separate feeds on your end, they both came from the same feed and therefore will always have the same content.

Not in all markets. Not yet anyway.

If they are as you say, taking the HD feed and cropping the picture and downrezzing, why maintain seperate receive facilites. I can tell you for a FACT that Cleveland still uses both facilities.

Probably just out-of-date information on the website. Certainly wouldn't be the first time that happened. Don't you remember the big list of all markets that showed the date when DirecTV would be switching everything over?
How do you know this, and where are they getting the SD signals from?

I won't go into any more details than this. The lights are still on and the door still unlocks at both places.

Alright, well nobody except LPTV is transmitting an NTSC signal, so I still have no idea where they're getting an SD signal from.

    All HD is digital.
    Digital is not all HD.

    Glad to help.

Let me turn this around. What proof do yo have that they are taking the HD feed, cropping & downrezzing it?

If thats what they are doing, why are there times where the HD version of a channel goes dark but the SD version stays on? Or vice versa? How can that be with your theory? How do you explain the threads that pop up from time to time with DMA XYZ HD locals out, SD locals via sat just fine? Again, if it's the same feed that's being uplinked to DirecTvs NOC, how can that be?

No, it means that the other party has decided to use the classic "I know I'm right, but I won't provide any proof" argument. You've obviously got a problem with me, why don't you just put me on ignore? It's a great feature, it has helped lower my blood pressure.

Your talking about yourself you know. You still haven't provided any proof to back up your claims? Instead you stormed off all in a huff. :nono2:

    I don't have a problem with you.

In fact, I find you most Entertaining and Very Knowlegeable most of the time but it looks like in this case you lost the battle so you want to pick up your toys and go home.

Jeremy, you can't always Win and you can't always be Right but you can learn if you are Patient and Understanding.
