Another case of where more is less.... as we will have to bounce around to more sites to get the same amount of information we used to get at one. He posted 6400 times. That will a LOT of info to miss.

I know that this site was like a duck in many ways (smooth sailing on the surface, paddling like a fuddermucker underneath), so I'm sure we mere peasants missed the real fireworks behind the scenes, but I will miss Scott's insights and experience.

I'm still hoping that things return to normal, but it looks like that will never happen now.

Jeez, just when I thought that Charlie was gonna be the primary source of my frustration, oh well............

Ditto here! From the posts I've read, it appears to be Chris's sandbox. I'm not privy to anything that may have also been going on behind the scenes. But it appeared to me that everyone that had started the furor had gotten their heads screwed back on properly and reconciled. Chris - its your call. But I started visiting dbstalk because of the wealth of information and option - ALL IN ONE SITE. I'd hate to see it splinter, but that's what appears to be happening. And I think we all lose something there. Come on guys, lets pull this back together. I'd much rather be spending my time bashing Darth Ergen, technology whose time will come "soon"... etc.

nobody needs to worry... there won't be any splintering here. DBSTalk.com was, is, and will continue to be the best place on the Internet for DBS discussion, with or without Scott G.

    Let's move on, shall we?

<Sarcasm>RIght</Sarcasm>... Thats why Scott has already posted some new information not known on this forum to other forums (DBSFORUMS). I fear that this site will not have the "Breaking News" coverage that Scott so aptly provided.

    pjmrt:

    "Chris - its your call."

Chris made the call by stating: "Without going into a big long speech, Scott will be welcomed back here as an admin."

Then Scott stated: "While I thank Chris for restoring me I am now just an ordinary user so I will not be posting again until my full access is reinstalled."

Chris offered a first step towards reconciliation which Scott has rejected. Let's not forget that Chris is the victim of this mutiny. Chris was very humble and gracious by letting Scott back in to begin with. Scott’s words were not only bad but his actions afterwards were even worst which I’m not at liberty to discuss. Scott was a very valuable member and admin here but he crossed the line more so than many of you will ever know.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Chris opened the door and Scott shut it with post like this:
"I have some news but since I am still unwelcomed here I will not post it here, I invite you to check DBSforums or AVSforum for more details."

"While I am not upset, I am disapointed that I was kicked out of the gold club, as you may know I have donated time and money to keep DBSTalk.COM growing. membership into the Gold Club is supposed to be lifetime. As I Gold Member I would have liked to plead my case to the other Gold Members, I as a donating member should have been given that opportunity."

You have a PM system so you could have used that instead of trying to gain pity or publicity here publicly. But no... you're looking for publicity. Does my user name ring a bell? I wish your fans knew about that. So instead of pleading your case to Gold Members via e-mail and PM, you try to slam Chris here publicly by "kicking you out" when he wrote: “Scott will be welcomed back here as an admin." Chris welcomed you back and you shut the door. And for you Scott G fans I say this...
He wrote: "While I thank Chris for restoring me I am now just an ordinary user so I will not be posting again until my full access is reinstalled."

How does this make you feel? Since he no longer has total power he won't post here anymore because he’s not in control anymore and to hell with all of you. Scott is interested in power not sharing good info like good members of both forums do.

"While I thank Chris for restoring me I am now just an ordinary user so I will not be posting again until my full access is reinstalled."

And to hell with all of you. He obviously cares more about status than sharing info. I wish Chris the best of luck after being stabbed in the back.

Ok maybe I will have to set the record straight, I was planning on walking away and letting this alll drop until one of the staff members just sent me a nasty email and even threatened me in it.

That person is Mr Neil Derryberry, who for the life of me I can't understand even what he does for the board, has he ever moderated a single post here? Does he even know about satellites besides sitting in front of his TV?

This could get nasty unfortunately, but perhaps I should let the full truth out, hell I was willing to walk away on MY baby until I got this email. The unfortunate part to all of this is what is going to be said may upset some members and cause many to leave DBSTalk, which is something I DON'T want happening, you have to understand I love DBSTalk.COM many hours went into working on building up the place, it would be a real shame to see it go down just as quickly.

For you gold members who were told that I was stealing the database and was going to open a DBSTalk clone please email me for the real truth. Email me at scottg

For now I am going to relax and hopefully will talk with Chris tonight.

I have been assured by Chris that although I was involved it was NOT my fault. I regret whatever part I played in the problem.

Having been thru something similiar sometimes it just best to let it drop and walk away to neutral corners. That worked for me years ago.

Scott I wish you all the best and hope the restaurant your wife is opening does awesome. If you were anywhere near here I would take Jen to dinner there.

Chris and the rest of the staff, keep up the good work.

Everyone else? lets move on and get back to discussing DBS PLEASE!

Anyone who works hard for something tends to take a pride of ownership position. This is most easily expressed when big lifelong fans of a band say things like 'my band' or 'my music' They aren't in the band but with years of support and uncounted thousands spent in some cases they feel like part of the band itself.

It's a complement if Scott wants to use the phrase 'my baby' it shows that he really does care about this forum and what goes on.

Bob don't worry about it, I told you yesterday that you were ok, this all started off as some misscomunication.

We had out Unofficial Grand Opening last night, it was invitation only and had 300 show up for the 3 hours we were open.

Today is the official grand opening, and I talked to my wife once and so far she did $10,000 in sales for the day she is on the road to having on of the most profitable Opening in Wendys History!

As for me I have been eating Wendys for the past week, so I don't think I will be having a wendys craving anytime soon. :D

If it was said by Chris to Scott that he was going to be welcomed back as an admin. then how come did he not get that status at that time?

Bob, I'm hoping that outamymind's post had a forgotton smilie attached to the end of it. To me, it sounded like a friendly jab.
