Not that I am aware of other than E* lit up a few of the markets in the D* top 10. But E* also has many more holes below #64 than D* does.
I don't expect any more news until the previously announced DMA's are lit up which should be by the end of January.
I wish D* would hurry up with Shreveport's HD locals.
This is the second Thanksgiving I have had the family over and had to hear my stepfather tell me how great football looks on his Sudden Link HD and why does the picture look so bad on the Cowboys the local games look GREAT on my TV .........
I expect we won't get our locals in HD anytime soon in the Charleston-Huntington market I forgot how long it took us to get our SD locals, but it wasn't quick that's for sure
Did you know E* lit 3 of them up last week? (All but NBC)
We are served off 7S which was in June 2004 and were just slightly behind our DMA rank. But that has its downside as those who got locals much later from the 72.5 are now getting HD locals since D* has to get them off that slot as they lose their temporary authority to use that slot soon.
I can get all 4 nets via OTA, and I have expanded storage on my DVR's, so at this point, I don't really care, but I understand the frustration of wanting what other have, especially those in the #150+ DMA's.
Interesting statistics about HD LIL channels.
I think you should add Milwaukee to your list. Even though they have NBC, ABC, and FOX in HD, they don't have the local CBS affiliate in HD.
Since this is the #1 network which I watch all the time, I wouldn't even consider paying DirecTV $10/month for HD until it and ALL the locals were available LIL in HD.
My most recent email to D (last weekend) asking about the Jackson,MS (#90DMA) market for locals in HD came back with the same answer...."hopefully soon."
Channel 13 went HD on SuddenLink Cable well before last week. They did ads about it on Channel 13 so that is how I knew about it because obviously I don't have SuddenLink. I think for some reason D* is starting to fall behind E* and Cable :eek2: I do not want that to happen :nono2:
NBC just went up. E* now has all 4 nets in HD. When I get a chance, I am going to indicate which of the top 10 markets are now served by E*.
For that list, Lansing is served by E* HD LiL for Fox (WSYM) and CBS (WLNS), missing NBC (WILX) and ABC (WLAJ)
But Milwaukee is served. The reason you don't have CBS is most likely due to your station and D* not being able to come to an agreement. Once an agreement is reached, that station will go up.
This list is more about decisions D* is making with regard to what DMA's to provide service.
Update first post to indicate which markets are now served by DISHNetwork.
Same here I am in Ridgeland Ms and left Comcast because of poor customer service and now I miss my local HD channels and hate to be lied to.
I don't understand why it would be negotiated, comcast and dish have local HD channels?????
