Wow, talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. 1 bad recording doesn't mean that they are all bad. Amazingly, with all the members on this site and elsewhere who had the opportunity to watch Wall-e via "Top Movies", you are the only one to have a problem, if there was a universal problem with this movie, or if ALL "Top Movies" were butchered as you claim, you'd see more complaints about the issue here. Since many others have used and continue to use the "Top Movies" feature without experiencing your issue, it is wrong to take your 1, singular experience and extrapolate that to the entire universe of "Top Movie" offerings and all DirecTV customer experiences with "Top Movies". The lack of other complaints says a lot.

But if you don't see value in the "Top Movies" feature, don't use it.

 The 4 hour 16 minute GYP Top Movie does not expire off my Top Movie list until 5-2!
:confused:Also, many DirecTV Top Movie viewers are likely not to realize that they have not seen the ending of Wall-E (why else did Obama have to delay the Digital TV change?)!!!

Wow, you really don't get it.

We all understand that you had a problem viewing Wall-e via "Top Movies." We all understand that you called DirecTV and were issued a credit for the mis-recorded movie. We all appreciate your reporting the issue. But it doesn't change the fact that there appears to have been an isolated incident - either a problem with just this one movie or just the one recording on your receiver. It's time to let it go and move on, you'll be happier in the long run. I'm out. :coffee

Are you saying that people don't realize they're not seeing complete movies?

The DirecTV GYP tactic is that customers believe they get all the extras on the blu-ray/dvd version of the Top Movie when they are viewing a 4 hour 16 minute version!
:lol:In REALITY, they DO NOT EVEN GET THE COMPLETE MOVIE!

Cripes, a recording error happened ONCE and you think the entire system is rotten?

We all hope and wish for perfection - but that just isn't reality. Sometimes, things don't work.

We can either spend our time yelling at others and causing a ruckus, or being positive, chalking it up to a technical glitch, reporting it to DirecTV and moving on.

I really wish I had so little to worry about in life that a broken recording would ruin my days and nights.

I've watched a half dozen movies via Top Movies and never had one end early. Multiple others have reported the same.

What is it you're looking to accomplish here?

:p It seems like our thread starter had a negative experience but I'd like to hear what others had to say. :p

Are you referring to yourself in the third person and first person in the same sentence? I'm confused. YOU want to hear what others have to say? :scratchin

It was just a mistake by DirecTV or a flub of the DVR. You know that but won't admit it.

And for some reason, you're seeing how hard you can "stir the pot" and not cross the wrong line...

:p I think I MAY have found another candidate? VOD/HDVOD "Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull" is on my top movie gyp list at 3 hours 14 minutes!!!

:nono2:Is it really that long? I have watched it for free on cruises, etc (and thought it was terrible so I AM NOT INTERESTED in paying for it!
:eek2: Do you suppose it is gyp clobbered to?

Stop using racial slurs please. You were asked nicely earlier and now again. You're offensive.

Again you can leave out the racial comments.

I really wonder about this. Can you really extrapolate one bad recording to the whole list?

Others (including myself) haven’t seen this with their viewings of Top Movies then how prevalent cant it be?

IMO, such a thing wouldn’t be intentional on DirecTV’s part. I would think it would violate a contract to arbitrarily cut off the endings.

Then the question, in my mind anyway, is if this has happened to anyone else.

If it has it might indicate there is something wrong with what these movies are downloaded to our DVRs.

If it hasn’t then it was probably a one time aberration.

Either way it’s something worth investigating.

Yes, scam is fine. Now please don't call me a shill either since a moderator asked earlier that name calling be left out of the discussion.

Why do I feel like I'm talking to my three year old? :scratchin

    Peachtree...
    :beatdeadhorse:

The wife and I use TOP Movies all the time. Yes, we had a bad recording on one occasion but a call to DirecTV got the matter resolved quickly and easily.

I'm sorry you were expecting more (extras, etc.) then what DirecTV was offering but is that really DirecTV's fault or yours. Did the description say it included all of these extras? If no, you should not have assumed it did.

So now you're just copying and pasting other people's posts from earlier.

Silly me for genuinely trying to get to the bottom of someone's problem. Unfortunately I don't have the right certifications or education to help you, I'm sorry. Good luck getting the help you need.

Moderators - please close and delete this thread. It does not belong on dbstalk.com's servers in my opinion.
