I voted "don't care" but of course I only have one DVR, so why should I care?

Wouldn't it have to allow for both account and receiver specific mail?

Some TVMail will be general in nature and would go to all the receivers on an account. If it applies to a specific receiver, say the 24 series, then it need only go the Hx24 receivers.

Can it push the message to only our primary receiver? With 7 receivers it is a lot of deleting.:computer:

How about a TV Mail On/Off for the individual receivers?

I don't care for the option to delete on all, one, the other one, Mom's, ect... ;)

But a On/Off for TV Mail for each receiver means off for kids, on for Mom, on for me, off for wife, off for garage.

    What he says!

Having to individually delete SPAM from 9 separate receivers is a tad annoying.

What it needs is a spam filter. All I get are brainless adverts about PPV UFC matches, which I could give a mouse's fart about. But I'm afraid if I don't read them that I'll miss something important, like a free preview. Very annoying and unnecessary. Boooo!

Makes on difference to me, I've never even opened it.

"Music, Photos & More", "Caller ID", and "TVmail" are just ignored.

Why do you have to delete it? I never do.

Well, sometimes there's something interesting in the TV Mail, like a free preview weekend. I just want to know that it's happening once, not 5 times... If I leave them all there then the more important stuff gets lost in the clutter.

I voted for the first choice in the poll.

I love the messages but with MRV, we should have a 'delete from account' or some other kind of remote delete option. It is extremely redundant. That was the point I was trying to make in the other thread I started where there was a lot of debate about TVMail.

At some point the user should be able to select what kind of messages they receiver as well. For example trials and channel changes only or also tips and tricks.

Below is the 'Step up in TV Mail' Thread:

voted delete after specificed period of time. It really doesn't take more than a couple seconds to delete them so I really don't care, you don't have to read each one on each receiver before deleting it. Pretty minor issue for me.

I read all the mail that appears on my main DVR and then delete it. Since I know that any mail on the other DVRs is just a repeat of what I've already read, I don't bother even checking them. The mail can stack up forever on those and it won't bother me at all.

red button to delete without first having to read the mail would be a good start.

One a day for the last two days, I mean cmon Directv. Really??

Couple that along with the SIXTEEN phone calls in 20 days ( I finally answered today to see what was so important) to offer me the HD Xtra pack for free for 90 days, we might as well start referring to them as DirecSpamTv.

Don't care. I just ignore the mail icon on the channel banner.

Spanky is one smart puppy... The ability to turn TVMail off on individual receivers would solve the problem elegantly. Sort of like a spam filter...

Though I can see reasons why DirecTV wouldn't implement something like that. Too easy to forget that it's off, etc...
