I didn't put this in the tech forum, as while she was using GPS, the real issue isn't technology.

She was supposed to go to Brussels, Belgium, and ended up in Zagreb Croatia.

You have to pass through three countries to do this. Now, I know the EU has easier border crossings, but come on...

She even said she saw signs changing languages.

If only it were that easy to get to Canada...

She was distracted by the voices in her head. I feel sorry for her and her son.

One article did call her "elderly" but most 67 year olds (or some 85 year olds) would disagree with that term if it was used to describe them.

Well, GPS is for people who don't know where they are going. And until Europe has a common written language, one sign just looks like another sign -- unreadable.

But in the articles she says she noticed them changing languages. In Belgium, a lot of signs are multilingual. They aren't in France.

But, if after refueling twice and stopping to get some rest on what is a 90 minute journey, that doesn't clue you in, nothing will.

Actually kind of wonder what made her realize she wasn't in Belgium anymore. Looks like a road she could have been on goes from Zagreb all the way past Belgrade.

Distracted? What in the world distracted her continuously for over 2 days that she didn't realize she wasn't at the train station yet. I can just hear the phone conversation with her friend waiting to be picked up.

"Where are you? It's been a good 2 hours since I got in."

"Don't worry. I'll be there any minute now."

Somebody that "distracted" shouldn't be allowed to drive.
