I will not mention the game this took place in so as not to spoil it. The batter hits an apparent double and the opposing manager comes out protest the call as he thought it should have been a foul ball. The other manager came out and argue that it should have been a home run. After about five minutes the umpires decide to review it and after 8 minutes and 45 second they it a home run.

With instant replay supposedly coming next year one can only hope that in the off season a lot of training will be given to the umpires so they can take a look and do what they need to do quickly. Dragging their feet can only sour baseball for even more people if they slow the games down too much more. Personally, they can take as long as they want as long as they get it right. Plays shouldn't take too long to review though IMO.

There wouldn't have been a fan involved, would there? Wouldn't have involved a team I love?

    Do tell!

A 19" monitor can give as sharp, even sharper image than far bigger screens. It's the number of pixels and the sharpness thereof that make for a superb picture, not the diagonal measurement.

No telling what resolution the screens in the Umps area are, probably not HD, but they could be.
