After waiting several years and frequently Checking the "Monthly Uplink" so Finally Dish uplinks my locals in HD....One minor problem I nor any of my neighbors with Dish are on the Eastern Arc!! in fact I often catch my self looking at others dish installs and I don't think I've seen a EA set up in my area! I have a 1000.4 Dish looking at 129*,119*110* with a D44 guess a Wing dish is my ONLY solution to get my locals in HD?

Were you or are you supposed to be switched over to EA? Shouldnt someone in Florida have been on EA pretty much from the beginning?

    East...
It could be their SD locals are on WARC, probably from back before there ever was an EARC. It's not unusual for those in the east to have SD locals on WARC and then end up with HD locals on EARC.

    Have you called Dish tech support and asked them to "fix this"? Unless they say no, posting here doesn't help much.;

I'm in this same area (Biloxi/Gulfport Mississippi) so I've been patiently waiting for high-def locals as well. We didn't get SD locals until just a few years ago. What does it take to switch to Eastern Arc? Are there disadvantages to EA versus WA? Thanks for the information, rtd2.

Simplest solution is to add a D300 or D500 with a DP Dual lnb and point it at 61.5. Plug it into the input port on your D1000.4 and run check switch - bingo!

    I'm in MISSISSIPPI

Yes, Tech said "Only locals are in SD for my zip code" ???
I've PM'd Mike He's in the USA! lets see what he comes up with...

We about to Have a Bigger problem come July 31st if Our local Owner of WLOX(CBS,ABC) -Raycom doesn't renew their contract we will loose these to channels unless an extension is given. I have an antenna i used in last dispute several years ago, and trust me when it comes to Local channels its greed by the Local Owners NOT dish. Hopefully Raycom will accept dish's offer.

At the moment the HD locals are NOT AVAILABLE to customers. They are being tested. When a tech looks at the channels in your market they are looking at what is available ... not what may be coming.

Once the channels are available DISH may be of more assistance ... or perhaps Mike or another DIRT representative can help jump the gun on the locals being available. Please note that until the channels on 61.5 are available to customers your market has no locals on Eastern Arc.

James, Dish and others who replied, My Apologies! .... In my excitement and being disappointed by the 61*5, I Obviously Jumped the Gun ... looking Back at the Uplink info I copied. I clearly Missed the" Hidden" indicator and only noiticed "Available"

The hidden will stay ... that is the way that DISH keeps all the unsubscribed locals of other markets on the satellite (some possibly using the same DISH channel numbers as your locals) from appearing in other people's guides.

The flag to look for is "(Limited)". The channel is only available on a limited basis ... presumably to technicians in the area who are making sure the signal is received clearly. Watch for Uplink Activity where the "limited" flag is removed and the channels are simply "available" with no caveat.

Yup! Been Checking James' uplink page daily was out of town yesterday so glad to see they flipped the switch! ! Been with dish since 1998! Biloxi/Gpt is such a small Local market sandwiched in between Nola/Mobile I never expected our locals on Dish in HD but its here!!.... So I was working with a DIRT hopefully he can get me set up to receive them??? Obviously as stated above I'm in Mississippi but have a WA setup,(1000.4) With AT250 programming Is there an advantage adding a 2nd dish to get 61.5 and Keep 119/110/129 WA? or is a straight EA setup with one dish best? Will dish provide either?? Thanks again!

I only have an older 1000 dish, so I think I'll have to go straight 1000.4 EA. I would also like to know how EA does versus WA for south Mississippi on rain fade since we have such frequent thunderstorms.

*update* Apparently They are available but still not in Dish's system completely as neither customer service or Tech support see them, they advised I call back in a few days and they would generate a Work order to either switch me to an EA setup or add a dish at 61.5*

Im fine with either solution, obviously I prefer a single dish solution but will be satisfied with a second dish if that's what's needed not to loose any HD programing. As donebu mentioned we have frequent T-Storms in Mississippi but in my Current WA setup I RARELY ever loose signal.

The DISH tech just got through putting a new LNBF on our 1000 dish and re-aiming for Eastern Arc. It took a while before the local channels showed up in the DISH guide, but now have all of the locals in HD, except for WLOX-2 CBS, I guess WLOX only supplies it to DISH in standard definition. Thanks, Ray C@DISH Network for the help getting us set up.
