Version 0.18a here. I think the remote section needs to be updated. The "where am I button" is best dismissed by pressing play again. If you're playing a recorded show, exit also means switch to live TV. Maybe they added that option with this rev?

Alas, it seems they broke the slow playback function. Now all it does is flash the progress bar when holding down play. ..... HHhmmmm. It's decided to work today (I started this message last night). Thank you all for this wonderful resource.

Is there any shortcut to delete the Caller ID calls using the HR20. It takes a while when you have to delete them one at a time. I was hoping to find something like
" Select ALL " and then delete. Maybe I'm missing something, if there is a solution for this it would be great.

I just got my HR20, but it only has a limited list of steroes that it controls.

I have a B&K receiver. Does anyone have any more access codes that they know work?

First Birthday Party for the HD DVD+ Tips & Tricks

The Tips & Tricks had a modest start in 2006.

Initially it was a 2-Page compilation of just a few dozen ideas taken from DBSTalk.

With Version 3.4 today, DBSTalk has now found 144 Undocumented HD DVR PLUS Tips & Tricks.

The HR20 has changed so much: OTA, photos, music, DoD, and more.

Over 50,000 copies of the Tips & Tricks have been downloaded in the past year. And now we have 50 other resources in the HD DVR FAQ.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed!

I would suggest an alternate tip that works in both playback from a recording and from live TV, and will work if you are forwarding or replaying: Press BLUE twice. This brings up and closes the mini-guide and will not interfere with the current trick-play action.

Thanks for the update! I think I found an error. On page 3, the instructions for group play and group delete are the same.

Is it safe to assume that most,if not all of these tips will work on the HR21 also? Thanks in advance!

Most...but not all. The firmware on the HR21 is not yet quite caught up to the HR20 units, as these new units just came off the assembly line...they are playing catchup at lightening pace though, so it shouldn't be long.

I believe that they should all work on either receiver except the OTA section. That is noted as HR20 only.

I have gone through them on my HR21 and they all seem to work the same.

Would everyone with an HR21 please give them a careful check?

First I want to say thanks to Craig for all the Tips and Tricks. You have helped me advance years in quality viewing in the last few months. We now watch HD programs and utilize the DVR both on our big screen and are just thrilled. We recieved a good deal from Directv on the hr20 and now finished setting up another tv using the same HD DVR. This was all accomplished with the PDF's you compiled along with the great posts here... thank you all.

Now we need to add a couple more remotes that are RF capable. I have the RC34 already RF programed. My question is, do I need to add another of the same model remote or can I use the new RB64 as well? I was thinking of getting one on ebay. I also was hoping my Monster Remote would also work in RF to control the hr20..

    Thanks,
    Brad
