Ok, so I like Franken a little more now.
10,000 attaboys, Al!
That about sums it up. Career-wise, it ain't gonna get you a gig in Las Vegas or a network special. And $50/day barely covers chewing gum expenses. These guys and gals are giving of themselves and their otherwise valuable time to bring a little joy and touch of home to our troops.
And for that, we all owe them a debt of gratitude!
Haven't seen Rush over there, have we?
Rush isn't a stand-up comic, but then to judge by Franken's history, act, and talent, neither is he.
Not Iraq, but Afghanistan - http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/eibessential/rush_reports_back_from_afghanistan.guest.html
Wow! He went in March of this year. Oooh! Scary kids!
From the link, it appears Rush did a bunch of photo-ops and that's about it. Oh yeah, he did an interview on Kabul radio.
Actually I'm surprised he hadn't been there earlier and more often. There must be a lot of black market Oxycontin floating around.
That's a matter of opinion although technically I suppose he's a "sit-down comedian". Nearly everything he says is hilarious!:rotfl:
Okay, cheap shot invalidated...I apologize...
