This is cute. D*'s guide cut the pinnacle of the Olympics off right at the apex: right in the middle of the Russian skater's performance, the final skater. So 26 million people had to go to bed having no idea who won.

To be fair to D*, this was an NBC f-up. This was an edited show done on a minimum 3-hour delay so it would have been trivial for NBC to edit the show to fit inside the guide-listed run time. And not just D*, but every guide there is had the exact same cutoff time for the show.

So NBC edits the show to run over. And a gazillion people watched it cut out right in the middle of the performance of the Games.

I mean, could NBC POSSIBLY F this up worse if they TRIED???

I didn't not reference him and have no idea who he is or why he came up with the same number I did.

I believe this thread is about Olympic coverage. Not about how many criminals are in a particular sports league.:backtotop

My original statement remains accurate. Your illogical reply that cites one incident doesn't disprove my original statement. Besides, what part of "isn't as filled with" do you not understand? I'll repeat: every sport has its buffoons, malcontents, etc., but the NBA leads the pack, followed closely by the NFL.

    Back to topic.

Did you see Costas last night during the bumper after they showed the shootout goal that Canada scored on Switzerland. He says, "Now, back to figure skating.." and rolls his eyes.

To me, his expression showed everything. I think he's fed up too.

Thanks, I thought I screwed up. The wife looked at me like"What did you do to the recording?" I thought I had added a 30 min buffer to allow for this thing. It wasn't enough though. Tuner was still on the channel, so we got to see the Medal ceremony, but not the performance. :(

My opinion was he thought Crosby's goal was the end of the game, not realizing Broduer(?) had to make one more save to win it. Not sure Bobby understands shootouts and how they work.

No, the curling and hockey games are definitely live on NBCOlympics.com. And while it's not "real" HD, it's way better than SD.

    Basic dvr rule:
Always add minimun 1 hour to "live'' events.

Doesnt everyone know this yet ? guess not.

OK, is there a snowball's chance in hell that D* will pick up the MSNBC-HD feed for the US/Canada game on Sunday? I can't believe NBC is pushing this event down to their 4th tier channel, but I would think D* could work some magic here if they really wanted to.

I think there has only been 1 or 2 nights of the Olympics so far that has ended on time. And no, they don't go back and re-edit for the Mountain / Pacific time zones.

So not blaming Direct TV or NBC for this one.

    Mitoca,
Personally, I'd happily pay a PPV fee for this game in HD.

You'd think so... but I'm guessing no. On the TODAY show they mistakenly (I think) said that the game was going to be shifted to NBC on Sunday night. That was a cruel tease
