bettman was just discussing versus on the nhl hour. didnt sound very optimistic about anything happening anytime soon. if i recall he said something along the lines of "i expect that both sides will have this resolved at some point" but then went on to point out how dish has 6 million more viewers watching versus, even though that supposedly runs out in a few days.

As was posted many many posts ago, I think the key to getting this resolved is the three FSN Channels D* now controls (as of today) that have carriage deals up with Comcast December 31st. When that happens D* will have more negotiation power and Comcast will have incentive to start moving on an agreement as well.

I still believe we may see Versus back on D* not before January, due to the FSN issue with comcrap coming to a head and D* getting some much needed leverage.

Well Sports Business Journal has picked up what has been discussed here for a while, that being D* (Liberty) will use their owned RSN's to get VS and hopefully the other CSN's all under new contract. We can only hope, with CSN Chicago, New England, Bay Area, and California all being out of contract.

Im pretty ticked that I missed the WEC event last night. Mike Brown lost his title much to my suprise. I will never be mad enough to switch providers over this channel but I do miss it.

Tell that to people in Buffalo, Detroit, Pittsburgh, or Boston. So naive.

The San Jose Sharks sell out virtually every game. Not bad for a game that's not popular.

I contacted them a few weeks ago to see if they'd be interested in doing a story about the lack of MSG HD feeds on NHL CI and the ongoing dispute b/w the NHL and MSG. Their reply was that they'd look into it and may indeed do a story. I haven't had any other update from them since.

Cal-Stanford is on Versus Saturday afternoon. That makes two games this season that I would have liked to watch.

However, I'm not that upset. It's hard to believe that there are over 3200 posts on this topic.

This is the first time I have been really angry about the Versus situation - though I'm actually even more pissed that the Big Game is on Versus in the first place. I guess I'm calling up some friends with U-verse to see the game tomorrow.

The SF Chron did a story on this. I also saw a note on Twitter from SBJ that D* and VS did have a meeting in NYC yesterday but nothing had been agreed to....yet. At least they're talking again, but looks like all the College Football fans are out of luck this season.

The thing about this whole situation is it shows the CONTEMPT that BOTH organizations (D* and C*) have for their customers...While these two lardass giant media providers posture and huff and puff the customers that pay THEIR saleries are ultimately getting the shaft.

Looks like D* isn't the only company having issues with Comcast and their RSN's. Many smaller Bay Area companies met to discuss issues with both CSN's (mainly issues with CSNCA) http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/ecfs2/document/view?id=7020349322. I know Suddenlink Cable in Truckee/Tahoe/Auburn/Monterey hasn't been able to get an agreement with CSN California since its launch a couple of years ago.

Looks like comcrap is trying to screw everyone they can.

I don't see how comcrap taking over NBC can be good for anyone other than their shareholders. I hope the FCC votes this thing down, should it get that far.

I don't know if this is good news or bad (I'm guessing the latter, unfortunately) but 603 is now greyed out on my guide (it still says "Important Information about Versus" and not some PPV) and tuning to 603 gives me the "Channel not purchased. (721)" message (FWIW I subscribe to the Premier package).
