I've got a Bell TV subscription to follow my Leafs in HD(don't know why, they suck forever). It has come in handy with this Versus/D* fiasco. Nice to have WGN/CW9HD too to follow the Hawks. Good team but, I digress.

?? Liberty still has a controlling interest (54% IIRC) in the entity known as DirecTV do they not?

Great idea, but as long as Versus has the exclusive on the games they broadcast, you will never see it in the US.

I think VS does some times just use TSN feeds.

In the playoffs, Versus often uses TSN feeds.

Versus usually has a double-header and does one game with their broadcast team and the other with the broadcast from TSN. That's usually how it works.

Well, how about creating a tier that just has Versus in it as an additional channel?

I think DirecTV would gladly do that, but Comcast/Versus would never bite on that one

one of the reasons that it costs more now is the weaker dollar and the exchange rate.

It used to cost 65 us for something that cost 85 or 90 canadian. Now they are almost the same.

I agree! They're the only team in this city worth watching, and every time I'm ABLE to watch them, I can't because they're on Versus.

I think this is the last time this month, though, that they're on Versus, IIRC.

But the good thing is that all CSN / CSN + and WGN games are in HD unlike other teams and we have better play by play then VS has.

Not sure if this will help (or if already mentioned), but copied this from VeloNews Forum today. Interesting idea...

    Dear Velo,

Regarding your recent Explainer column on the Cable TV battles over the Versus network, I’m not sure if this has been mentioned in this venue before, but perhaps writing ASO to put pressure on Comcast from their end would help get VS back on DirecTV. I’m sure that they are not pleased with the prospect of a sizable portion of their viewers in the U.S. being unable to watch their events, which would in turn impact the revenue they get from their partners.

Given that one of the ASO’s properties, the Dakar Rally, is currently underway, now might be a good time to contact ASO, Comcast and DirecTV about getting VS back on the air.

    •ASO – asotv@aso.fr
    •Comcast – 1-800-266-2278
    •DirecTV – 1-800-531-5000

IMHO & I could be wrong,Gary Bettman MUST get involved in this dispute NOW.If he doesn't he should be forced out as the NHL boss and another one who is competent should be found and step in immediatly. This dispute is doing major harm to the sport of hockey.

There hasn't been a "competent NHL boss" since Clarence Campbell.
