Only 3.2 vewers watched it..
Should that be rounded out to three viewers?
Uhhhhh what? It was the nights 2nd highest rated cable show and #1 in the key demographic. That's not a flop.
For cable, that's not a flop - it's not a huge cable audience compared to "Walking Dead" but comparable to "Mad Men" and "True Detective".
For a comparison, the season premier of "The Americans" on FX pulled 1.9 million which is very typical for cable shows though not so good for a scripted show with high production costs - fortunately it has excellent international distribution as does "Vikings."
I don't like that kind of programs.
Voice of reason.
I get jumpy when I hear cancellation talk of my favorite programs.
Hopefully "Black Sails" gets the same love.
In the article I read, last year's Vikings debut had about 6 million viewers as opposed to this year's debut. But, last year the Vikings came after the Bible hit and picked up a lot of viewers from that. This year, they came on without that lead-in. So the 3.2 million was more than acceptable.
That Viking leader looks a lot like Charlie Hunnam, from Sons of Anarchy to me. Same mannerisms, same cool demeanor, same calculating eyes.
It took 3 episodes before I realized it was not him.
I gotta admit I looked back at the credits the first time I saw the show. Thought they might be related.
