Can anybody more or less explain what is going on with his holdout against the Chargers. How does it compare with Revis with the Jets. Thanks.

Thanks. What I don't understand is that he is going to be a free agent next year. I was under the impression that a player losses a year toward free agency if he does not sign and sit out the year.

He would have been a free agent this past off season if the collective bargaining agreement had not expired. When it expired it triggered several clauses built in to try and motivate both sides to not allow this to happen. Among many others (no cap), one year was added to players free agent eligibility requirement. Under normal circumstances he would have to sign his tender and report before the 11th game of the season. That would count as a year of service time. If he sits out the whole year then he is assuming that the new agreement will have the same service time requirements as before. Of course if there's no agreement then none of this will really matter next year.
