VIP-622 Question

    I am new here, so hello to everybody

    At the dish page says that you need a "caller id from your local phone company and must be connect it to a phone line"

    Can somebody confirm that you need the caller id?

    In order to use the caller ID features of the receiver, you must connect it to a phone line AND have caller ID features from your phone company. While this may be obvious to most people, Dish always puts this requirement in their descriptions because apparently some people think they can get caller ID on the receiver without having to get the service from the phone company.
