If you call Directv, they will send one (free) and you'll probably receive it before you get the H24. They no longer appear to be available on the website.

If you look back through this thread a number of folks have many extra BBC's that they are willing to share.

If fact I'll throw mine in as well, I'd have to dig them out but I should have some in a box somewhere that I'd be willing to mail out to anyone that needs them.

Yes, but what "excuse" to use? I may need to call them anyway to see if I can get remote ordering turned on with the HR22.
I saw that in skimming, but haven't read the whole thread. I'll look again tomorrow as it's getting late.

If you call Directv (not regarding the H24 specifically of course) and tell them that you're missing a BBC, they'll send you a new one. Usually just for the cost of shipping. I've done it a few times for customers when our warehouse didn't have any, and the customer needed one.

just tell them the bbc end broke on existing hr22 and other seems loose, they will not charge anything to send them.
ask them if they can send 2 spares.

I kept enough brand new ones to cover all units if swm failed and I needed to quickly swap connectors to the wb616 switch.

This is my first ever trial. I want to give many thanks to the moderators and to DirecTV for this opportunity.

Regarding the need for BBCs, shouldn't we wait to be advised by one of the mods as to how to get them? I imagine many round 2 field testers are like me, and plan to either retire a non-BBC receiver. Others mights add the HR24 to a non-SWM setup. Both of those groups might need BBCs, right?

I'm going on record to say that being part of this group is awesome for my health. I'm on vacation this week but stayed home for it just to unwind. I've been chasing FedEx trucks up and down the block like a dog all week although I know nothing shipped yet. I should be in marathon shape by the time it actually ships! :D

I'll let you know if I get maced by the delivery guy... I have no shame.

LOL! Your post evokes visions, and those visions scare me about you. But I'm eager, too and I hear ya. Worse, I can't even seem to check my online DTV account to keep an eye out for any pending orders. When I click on that for the past few weeks all I see is "Your order information could not be retrieved at this time."

I'm feeling much the same anticpation anxiety as the rest of the other new guys. In fact maybe just a tad worse. A friend of mine just ordered a 60 in Sharp LCD. Since he does not live down here full time yet, the TV is being deliverd here to my house. It's going to take all I got not to test his new TV right along with the H24 that's heading my way. I MUST STAY STRONG !!!! :D

My big issue is figuring out where to hook this thing up...

I have a SWM8, one HR20 on SWM Port 1, one HR21 on SWM Port 2, one D10 on a Legacy Port. I know I will need a splitter...and of course some way to incorporate the HR24 into my network...(using WGA600N's on the other HR's)...decisions, decisions.

I need to grab 2 sws-2 splitters, they are cheap but the darn shipping costs more than the splitter :D

Might as well get some spare too, since the shipping will bite you later.

Glad to be in here for my first Field trial but I've got some questions.

Looks like the receiver will just be shipped directly so I am looking at a self install?

Looking at the latest issues thread it says "For all Hx24 MRV testing, please use SWM/MoCA. If no SWM connection available, please contact DirecTV." I currently don't have SWM at all but do plan to do MVR testing. Do I need to do something about this?

If no SWM I will need to get a BBC.
