Earl, I understand that you wont put a sitcky up and I agree with you that it doesnt need one. But how do you explain cartoon network hd then? which has yet to show a single program in hd but the feeds is up in super stretch mode

Im postive, but it was a long time ago. I think it was in the late 90's when the superstation aired WB programming nationwide.

I can tell you first hand that TBS HD is available locally in Atlanta, both on satellite and cable. TBS has gone cable only with the introduction of WPCH on the old WTBS signal here in Atlanta, and that, too, is available (at least over the air) as an HD signal. Mind you they aren't showing any HD programming (not even upconverted) for now. The current plans over at 10th and Techwood are to show HD content beginning with Braves games next year. (anything has to be better than the Hawks/Thrashers/Falcons, neither of which could win their way out of a paper bag).

Really? I was born and raised in Gary, and my folks live out in Winfield (out east of Crown Point) now...

Weird thing is the e-mail I got from Directv says they have no plan to add Superstation WGN HD in the near future but said they will forward my request to "management", yet the e-mail I got from Superstation WGN says they are currently in "discussions" with Directv.

Wonder who is telling the truth here? hhhmmm///:confused:

If it is on the superstation (which they are when they are played on WGN), it would most like be in HD, if there was a WGN-HD superstation channel

I'd go with WGN. IMHO, if you're negotiating for something you don't want to say that yes you'll be carrying channel X, kinds of puts you in a bad position, loosing leverage.

Don't expect DirecTV to add much in the way of HD for the next few months. They've pretty much maxed out their bandwidth for HD transmissions and have to wait until the next bird gets launched and running. At least, that's what everyone's favorite pundit Swanni says.

I don't think that is true. I think that the superstation feed can only show 15 games a season. Many games are only shown on the local wgn feed with different programming on the superstation feed.

Very true (not to repeat what was said)...local WGN shows about 25 Bulls games a year, while the Superstation can only show 15, thanks to the NBA taking them to court ten years ago. Those Bulls on the local feed are replaced by either extended movies and/or some "Feed the Children" special on the Superstation. The late news also get affected, with it being replaced on the Superstation by a regularly scheduled program (like Scrubs or Becker) or another special.
