    HR34/44
    HR24
    HR21 Pro

If your Are leasing and its free? No Doubt get that HR34/44 Records 5 things at once, 1 TB Hard drive But also comes with a $25 per month fee

Hr24 is fast responsive, and records 2 things at once,500GB Hard drive But only costs I believe $17-20 per month
Hr21 Pro , well slower, but can Buy outright online and own, Still records 2 things at once, 500 GB hard drive as well, Same fees per month$17-20 per month
The Fees include HD , DVR, and( MRV on the HR34/44)

HR 21 Pro doesn't require a lease agreement.

Note that if you order from DirecTV, they cannot guarantee a specific model number.

The lady at D* quoted me a price for the HR 34 at 150.00 installed.
I did not get a price for the HR24 which would be a few bucks cheaper in my monthley bill. Anyone know the price of the HR24 ?
The info so far has been a help to me, thanks.

These are lease Prices just so you are aware! they come with 24 month commitments.

Hr24 could be Free up to $199.
To own one someone stated $ $399-499

And as one stated, the only specific Model you can pick is HR34

You could end up with Hr22 or 23, a much crappier DVR then HR24 if you go with a Regular HD DVR.

The only place you can guarantee an HR24 is from authorized dealers like www.solid signal.com. of course going this route means that you have to pay FULL lease price.

We recently wanted to get an HR-24 as we were replacing a receiver. Dtv could not guarantee the replacement model as described above. We found that out the hard way. When we originally called Dtv they did promise us an HR-24. However, after hanging up we didn't get a good feeling about the "promise" so we immediately called back and cancelled our order. We were just planning on ordering from Solid Signal. Well, a couple days later before we had a chance to order from Solid Signal the Dtv order did not get cancelled and we received an HR-22. We called Dtv and talked to a mgr. The mgr was the sweetest lady I've ever talked to there and she assured us she would make this right. We didn't call with any attitude and wasn't hoping for anything other than a simple apology for the mistakes that were made and to let them know a CSR was promising models that could not be delivered. She had us go to the Solid Signal website and order the HR-24. She stayed on the line got our total for the HR-24 including tax and shipping and immediately credited our account for that amount. Worked out just fine but bottom line they can't guarantee you any model even if they say they can.

Bottom line is that you can choose ANY model DVR from ANY dealer.

So you guys are all wrong. You CAN choose what receiver you can get.

    That simple.

Jodean - did you not read my entire post? That's exactly what I did. I selected the exact model I wanted from solid signal. So we're not all wrong in this thread.

No, the bottom line is that your reading skills seem to be subpar. Of course you can get whatever model you want from a dealer. Everyone in this thread said that DirecTV will not guarantee a specific model (besides the HR34 Genie) when you order..which is absolutely correct.
