The EcoSmart models (at least the ones I tracked) did not go up any this year at Home Depot.

I wish I could remember how much they cost when we got them (I don't remember if it was 2010 or 2011)... it was either $29.95 or $24.95. Considering they are $9.99 now... that's a decent drop.

Will definitely be getting some 60w equivalents in the next few months... a price drop would be awesome! :)

I've switched almost all of my incandescent bulbs to LEDs. I tried the CFL's for about 2 days and I hated them! The dim starts ups and weird colors drove my nuts. I quickly returned them to The Home Depot and I have mostly the weird looking yellow Philips- but they are amazing! I switched most of my bulbs over in a 2 month time frame and my electric bill went down $40 in one month. I did the switch in January of this year and I haven't regretted one second.

I've bought a case of these and I won't use any other bulb:

I currently have 6 LED bulbs at around $10 per bulb, the rest are CFLs or 4 foot florescent tube fixtures.

I like the LED bulbs just hope the price comes down soon.

Waiting for that last halogen to give out in the kitchen (should be any day now) and that fixture and the rest of the Kitchen/breakfast area/Great Room will finally be LED (except for the light over the stove - have not found a LED T8 bulb)

The only problem I have with CFLs and LEDs is that they rarely burn out. I normally clean the glass in my fixtures when I change light bulbs. Now I am finding dust, dead bugs, etc and having to clean the glass anyway.

Ah, the T8 incandescent with the smaller screw base.

You'll need to search on the size of the screw base to find the right one. I get impression that’s an E17. The following link has a basic explanation of the Edison screw base sizes. Once you figure your base size, search on that and you’ll find the LED replacement. I’ve found it much easier to search on the size/type of base instead of bulb designation. I’m pretty sure you’ll find what you need. :)

If it's an appliance type 40W, try this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Miracle-LED-6...1365789562&sr=1-2&keywords=bulb+led+appliance

    Or this:

    http://www.amazon.com/White-Bulbs-L...365789562&sr=1-19&keywords=bulb+led+appliance

Not sure about the dimensions, so you'll have to verify. There are a few other similar listings also.

Home Depot is selling Cree dimmable LED 40 and 60 watt equivalent (type A profile) bulbs in both warm white and daylight versions. The 9.5 watt (60 watt equivalent) warm white bulb sells for $12.97 ($74.82 for a six pack). Daylight version is a dollar more. The 6 watt (40 watt equivalent) warm white bulb sells for $9.97.
I picked up two of the 9.5 watt warm white bulbs a few weeks ago. I've yet to install them because I haven't tested their compatibility with X10 controllers.

Yep, I'm in same boat. Bought my house 5 years ago. Replaced every kitchen flood (6) with CFL's, and 5 bathroom/kitchen over mirror/range lights. I'm down to one working CFL flood, and one of the 5 overheads.

I need to find one more of the "old" yellow Phillips 11W bulbs, to match the others. Looks like these are being phased out, for the newer style. Don't mind using the newer ones on sets I haven't replaced yet, but would like to match the 3 in the bathroom.

My next replacement set will be my outdoor candelabra fixtures at doors. Excited to not attract bugs! Anyone know of a reasonable outdoor-rated candle LED?
