..if I wanted a DVR and an HD box, not an HD-DVR? I am a Dish sub. ready to move on. I want to lease. From their website, and here, I'm a bit confused.
Here's what I think it looks like...
    DVR FREE (after rebate)
    HD 99.00 (after rebate)

    99.00 TOTAL TO MOVE ON?

    Is that correct?

I believe basically that is correct with 1 exception. The cost would be a total of $99 but only because you get a total of 1 rebate. Both the DVR and the HD receiver have upfront lease cost of $99 with 24 month committment needed - less a total of a $100 rebate.

Also, as a new sub, when you get the HD receiver you get a $30 programming credit (3 free months of the HD pack) - and a reduced monthly fee ($15 a month savings) for the first 90 days + all of the movie packs free for 90 days. Adding up all the credits and reduced charges its really like getting it for free. It is really NOT a bad deal.
