My volume trouble isn't just when the commercials come on. But it also takes place when I change channels and even during the time I'm just watching one channel. My volume goes up and down. It didn't use to do this and I'm wondering if some of the upgrades are causing it? I hate the idea of calling D*, but the constant use of the volume control is getting old fast :(

I have notice that also.I have to keep my thumb on the volume control. When watching FOX News the volume i can hardly hear it,then when they go to a commercial break have to turn down. But when they out of commercial break the volume will be up and gradually go down.

I have to thank commercials for my interest in film. I could never fall asleep watching TV in the past because the commercials would wake me up. Then I discovered Turner Classic Movies. Many/most were black and white, and I could watch them with no worry about a commercial waking me up. The B&W ones were even better because the light levels were fairly constant.

That's another big problem with commercials - the light levels fluctuate in the extreme - it's not possible to fall asleep watching something with commercials.

These days I just wont watch them. I'll skip or flip channels or watch a show that has no commercials. Advertisers have made commercials so damn annoying that they have simply lost me. I dont even watch the super bowl commercials anymore.

Thank god for Turner Classic Movies.
