Any input on whether it is technologically impossible (today) to schedule a recording from DVR 1 to record on DVR 2 and vice versa? As I understand it, if you had 2 HR2X and one H2X you could select which of the 2 HR2X you wished to record to from the H2X. I would like to be able to do that so you do not have to go to a remote room, power the equipment and finally schedule the recording.

While that function would be nice, it is not currently supported.

Can't do it, yet. Hopefully, one day it can be done.

I believe the current thought is that if you can tell it record to a specific DVR, that causes an extra button press/selection.

I hope so. If an H can talk to an HR to tell it to record, I don't see why an HR couldn't tell another HR to do it? It would just be a matter of a screen popping up saying something like:

"do you want to record this program on this DVR or another DVR"?

    If theres a conflict,

"this program conflicts with two other programs being recording on this DVR, would you like to schedule this program to record on another DVR"?

    :D

True. But as I mentioned before, that adds another prompt that needs to be answered when trying to record a show. Most people just want to hit Record and be done with it.

I think if the prompt were limited to homes w/multiple DVR's, it would be a popular enhancement.

I have a work-around that I use. My Droid phone is usually with me so I use it to schedule something in the bedroom if I am watching in the LR. More work, sure. However, it is still easier than going to the other room, turn on the TV, set recording, turn off and return to the LR.:D

I'd just take this. Hit record, and if the DVR has a free tuner for that timeslot, it records locally. If not, it asks if you want to record on another DVR.

I think that would be a perfect solution!

Yeah, actually that makes more sense. Or maybe an option to turn my idea on or off in a setup menu? ;)
