I have two HR21-700's. The first runs my living room which is on the far side of the house away from the dish. The second in the bedroom needs only about forty foot of wire to run from dish to receiver. Receiver one in living room works great. Receiver two in bedroom if recording show say on 229 will not get signal on golf channel or few other HD channels such as Espn. I can stop recording wait a few minutes and golf channel will begin working. It almost seems like while recording it is sucking all signal strength....which I don't think is possible. Was hoping without searching and reading for hours that someone would know or seen this problem in the past.

Might be a faulty LNB, BBC, or multiswitch.

On both receivers remotes, press and hold INFO button.
Once Test screen appears, Run System Test.

Please let us know what each reports. All OK or errors?

    Lets start there.

Receiver in bedroom said it had a alignment problem. Receiver in living room checked out ok. Both receivers are on same dish.
    Thanks for your help.

Have you swapped receivers to see if it follows the reciever with the problem or is associated with that particular location?

Are both connected directly to the dish? Or is there any hardware between the bedroom receiver and the dish?

The first thing that crossed my mind when reading the OP was the polarity/channel tuning situation with the dishes if there might be components (splitters or something) in the line somewhere.

Posting your signal strengths for all transponders on all sats could help us.

Again, thanks for any help. I also forgot to mention that it seems the problem is alot more frequent at night than during morning and afternoon.
