you can get to g4 on demand if you want g4
How do you do that exactly?
Sadly those three days of E3 are the only time I miss G4...that station went right into the tank and has never recovered.
Spike had a full day of E3 coverage this year btw, with some live events G4 didn't even cover.
It's going to be sold to UFC soon so it'll be on Directv soon minus G4.
Don't bail on Directv just because of lack of a Tech channel. If you like the G4 programming get a Roku; G4, TWITV (Leo), Revision3, CNET, BLIP, and lots of others. All free.
It's more like don't bail for a channel that it's very possible no carrier will have it. You don't want to switch just to lose it again in six months, even if you switch to Comcast.
G4 on demand is only avalible with an HDDVR and an internet connection, and it is on channel 1310
(this could also be because i get directv's channels and it might not be avalible public-ly)
channel 1310 is not avalible public-ly, sorry if i got any hopes up (possibly released in the future for customers)
I see nothing on 1310, it says "channel not available".
I hope G4 morph into a different channel. It's blocked on my receiver.
To be honest, I think G4's programming would be better off on an IPTV platform anyway.
When G4 becomes UFCnet, I suspect it will be on D* in a heartbeat.
My only question is will UFCnet be on the Sports Pack or one of the base packages?
hahaha that forms dated 2009 and ya'll are over arguing over it
I liked the channel better before the name changed to G4. The channel used to be a 24 hour computer information channel.
The name wasn't really changed to G4, Paul Allen sold TechTV to Comcast that killed most of the programming and rolled it into their existing G4 channel which temporarily became G4TechTV. Oddly enough, I don't really care that TechTV is gone, though I did back then. My biggest issue was Comcast dropping TechTV from their lineup to decrease its value so that they cold buy it.
+1... I don't miss it anymore either because the format is so different from when it was TechTV with the Screensavers, Call for Help, etc...
They were playing American Ninja Warrior on SyFy last week, so at least some of G4's content is already bleeding over to other Comcast/NBC entities.
The world became a much worse place when TechTV was demolished and that abomination called G4 took over.
I mean if there is a market for Current and LOGO there undoubtedly has to be one for TechTV?
I AGREE!!!!!!! TechTV had great computer shows. G4 had one computer TV show for awhile in the beginning.
I say we really don't need it anymore with Revision3 and TWiT, especially after he finishes the major expansion next month.
G4 was not a great channel but filled a niche and I did watch it time to time
I wasn't into G4; watched TechTV and found it very useful.
Gotta wonder, though briefly, if this channel cost much when it was carried by DirecTV. It seemed so cheap.
