You're right. That is a difficult website to navigate. Oh, I have to say that this is an opinion based on my experiences with that website. I'm sure that there are thousands of people who have no problem with D*'s website and I wouldn't want to influence anyone new on the forum because of my 3000 posts.

It is terribly slow and has been for years. When offered I take their survey and tell them about this every time. The tech forums are almost hidden at the bottom of the page in small letters, this was on the side. When on this website I see something that came from the d* website I cannot go there and find it.

That would be "up & down", but not side to side. [225 miles from SF to Reno]

You are pretty close. Was that just a random guess? I've driven 5 a many times in my life and, aside from the areas where you land in big cites (SAC/LA), if you're doing under 90, you're going too slow...

    Driving directions to Yreka, CA
    759 mi – about 11 hours 21 mins
    From - San Diego, CA

    1. Head north on 1st Ave toward W Ash St 0.4 mi
    2. Turn left to merge onto I-5 N 429 mi
    3. Take the exit onto I-5 N toward Stockton/Sacramento 329 mi

    Arrive - Yreka, CA

I agree the guide on their site is slow but a T1 connection has pretty low bandwidth as well.

What exactly is slow about the guide? When I click it, it loads almost instantly and I can scroll through it at any rate. The longest I have had to wait is a couple seconds when I jump ahead in time.

I think the site layout and features are great. But it is darn slow. Always has been, just sorta expected now.

Many large sites are like that though, Verizon, ATT Wireless, and Embarq are similar for me.

The channel list online downloads real time and has many different options in it. It would be much faster if they made 2 versions. 1 just a snap shot of the data for the day and let people browse it and a second for people looking to order a PPV or schedule something to remote record. I'm pretty sure the reason they do this is so that it's always up to date but loading that list takes a good 1-2 minutes easy.
