The OP understands that DISH Network isn't the problem but thinks that Charlie Ergen should personally do more to change Congress' mind.

Changing providers isn't going to magically change congressional policy and make arbitrarily chosen out-of-market locals available to any and all who want them.

how is it Whining when for one I pay for my bill and don't use half of the channel that I paid for and yet want more for all of us I know half of people here don't watch the HSN channel but yet we are charge for it or how manying times do any of you watch ION channel or Toon channel but yet we are charge for it. when we ask for a NV local they say no but they can add a channel that you don't want and can take channel's off the air at anytime without tell a customer but yet we want anything NO can't do that because FCC won't let us B.S. you did it in 1999 and I got locals from all over now can't do it!

CeeWoo don't worry about me I'll keep fighting for our rights. you keep Hating!

You need to familiarize yourself with the STELA criteria regarding broadcast signal reception. They are significantly different from the SHVERA qualifications.

The issue here isn't related to DNS because neither DISH Network nor DIRECTV offer Nevada stations via DNS.

You're not fighting for anyone's rights. You're rambling on (often incoherently) about the wrong players not addressing a personal peeve.

VOOM used the same basic technology and radio frequencies as DISH Network.

DIRECTV uses frequencies and satellite locations that are much different requiring new dishes and switchgear.

it would being nice too see the two come together and see what kind of upgrades that both team can do maybe there is a way to switch the chips out Directv boxes and make them Dish network it never hurt to think out side the box!

It doesn't hurt to think out of the box, but you still have to operate within what is financially feasible. Tom wasn't blowing smoke when he theorized that it would cost billions of dollars to execute such a transition.

Imagine that you're wireless phone provider was bought out and you had to throw your phone away and buy a new one. Multiply the cost of that by your favorite two digit number and you'll get a better idea of how much this is going to cost everyone.

Fox announced in 2010 it would require affiliate retransmission fees in 2011. The proposed fee schedule sought retransmission fees of 25 cents per subscriber per month in 2011, 35 cents per month in 2012, 42 cents per month in 2013, and 50 cents per month in 2014, according to those involved in the talks.

yes tom link this story and just look at the Money that Fox's want from us for the locals it going up not down really that what we don't want we want it going down.

There is solution of sorts. You can watch your old stations on the web.
