Just wondering peoples experience. I was offered the free Genie upgrade due to the discontinue service of the Genie go. I also got offered the newest Genie which is 4k. This is great because I have a 4k tv and it is one that does not need the C61K. If the only thing that is needed is to swap out the Genie box, why is Directv want me to pay $50 for an install? Just confused since the security of HDCP 2.2 is built into the devices.
I like where this is going, I am just slightly confused on what to actually do or say. So, step 1 is to get them to do a service call to swap the Genie. And start there. So, the 4k service is later and after the mini's are upgraded and my dish is also upgraded.
Once the customer calls back DIRECTV he would be advice of the requirements of the C61K. the fact that I said CALL BACK would indicate the the upgrade would not happen during the service call.
Easy, have the 34 service swap via a truck roll. All the tech nicely to install a 54. Then call DIRECTV to add the C61K. Should be at most $149. $99 for the client and $49 for the service call. Plus the tip for the installer.
