The way they butcher songs, it can't be due to content. Bit of a PITA to have to unlock the kids dvrs every time they want to listen to it.

Ya, "Today's Hit's" Are they not played on 65% of most car radios? Interesting indeed.

Could it be a hold over from XM 816?

The DMX DBS channel guide lists the "Today's Hits" channel as "It doesn't get more current than this. Adult themes"

While standards of decency seem to be lower each year (including what over-the-air FM stations now play that they didn't dare years ago), I'm sure there are many DirecTV subscribers who do not want their kids listening to or watching channels with "adult themes", hence the parental blocks.

But the radio stations play the edited versions of the songs.

    This sonic station evidently doesnt.

    edit:
i called sonic & the girl said that the MA rating is correct.

She said its more for 'themes' of the songs rather than actual lyric words & they are just playing it safe with the MA rating.

It's the way Sonic has the ratings. It cannot be changed, I complained on day 1.

If they're going to insist on a TV-MA rating, then they should stop butchering the songs. Is SonicTap run by Puritans?

Yea like in "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga they edit out the line:

"Cause I'm a freak bitch baby"....they keep it in radio stations versions but sonic edits it out + it always cracks me up when i hear it too.

    Gaga rules !!

Girls Gone Wild with full nudity on HDnet, TV-14, butchered, edited music on Sonic 816, TV-MA, yeah, that makes sense. :nono2:
