exactly, they already carry the other two, so why should they have to carry Faux Business too!?!
Fox Business is in HD. I suspect that its taking so long for E* to get it because they are attempting to get the HD feed.
My thinking is that Dish Network will eventually add FBN, sooner rather than later.
The Fox Buisness Network HD looks great on Directv, Sharp graphics.
Also Directv added the FBN SD feed also.
Or because Fox is insisting they carry the HD feed and E* doesn't want to. Speaking as a regular CNBC viewer, I prefer not to see Joe Kernan, Larry Kudlow, or Jim Cramer in HD. No reason to think I'd like FBN in HD any better. Now Maria, Becky, or Erin would be another matter entirely.
Isn't CNBC going to add a HD feed, but the video will be SD, with more graphics on-screen in the additional space?
That's how it's been everytime I've watched CNBCHD so far.
CNBC caters to the affluent lot. The average net worth of its viewers is $2.7 million according to the Wall Street Journal. Fox tries to make business news more accessible for the masses. What is interesting is that WSJ, which is now owned by the Fox owner News Corp., has an exclusive content sharing agreement with CNBC until 2012.
When Fox went after CNN a few years back, it seems to have a business plan to lure the redneck audience and that seems to work for them business-wise.
FBN is owned by News Corp. News Corp owns Directv. I suspect the negotiating went long and hard before Directv was able to hammer out the "best deal" for carriage of the channel.
News Corp sold their stake in D* to Liberty Media in exchange for Liberty Media's shares of News Corp.
true, but the deal hasn't been completed as of yet
Correct. It will still be many months before the sale actually takes place. They, at this point in time, are still controlled by NewsCorp. So, Directv had to "negotiate" with another division of the same company to gain carriage of the channel. This could, and probably does, explain why it appeared so fast.
Will they add Fox Business Next Week ?
Who knows. I for one, hope not. But that's just me.
