I don't check very often, but they don't show up on my HR20-700.
Ken Burns' Baseball is currently scheduled to air on Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on MLB Network.
Get those DVR's ready to go for that documentary.
Don Larsen's perfect game is scheduled to air at 7 PM ET next Thursday,January 1,2009.
At the conclusion of that broadcast,MLB Network will have interviews with Larsen and Yogi Berra.
They are gone now. Don't remember the expiration date on them.
I was looking through the schedule and as typical with national news and sports, the east coast bias shines as bright as the sun on a crisp clear day. The entire programming (more or less) is about the friggen spankies and the dudsox. Pathetic!!!
EXCELLENT! Well, at least the part about the Yankees!
Another update in regards to Larsen's perfect game.
MLB stated on their site a little while ago that Larsen's game, along with approx. 30 World Series classic films have been transferred to HD and will be shown in the HD format.
not true Dodgerking. starting in February theyll be at a different Spring Training Camp every day, all 30 teams' facilities will be visited.
Other than the several repeats of the Red Sox Memories mini-series, you are completely wrong. They are showing World Series from the past few years and Ken Burns and the series Cathedrals of the Game that was done by In-HD (the predecessor to Mojo) a couple of years ago. Most of the programming is their Hot Stove program.
In fact, I saw ZERO programs on the Yankees not counting some old World Series highlights yet saw a program on the history of the Dodgers. In fact, the most varied programming is from the St Louis Cardinals, who the last time I was at a Cardinals home game were not stationed on the East Coast.
They are going to have an issue with team highlights and programming. The teams own much of that and have to release the rights.
January 1st has two programs repeating: Hot Stove and Classic Games. The same classic game is a Yankee game. 1/2 of the days programming is a Yankee perfect game.
January 2nd has Hot Stove, Red Sox memories (pathetic), WS Highlights, All Time Games, and Inside the Moments. WS Highlights are the friggen Sox again in everyone, 1/4 of the programming is devoted to Red Sox memories, and the All Time Games is the friggen Yanks again.
After looking at the first two days and seeing nothing but Sox and Yanks crap, I didn't bother to look any further.
Let's look at day three: Look, some games that don't involve the Sox or Yanks, but still over half are the friggen Sox. What in the hell is up with the Red Sox memories programming? There are people outside of NE after all.
Let's randomly pick another day in January shall we? OK, the 22nd. Look Red Sox Memories Part 2 (give me a friggen break!!!). We have Hot Stove and Red Sox again. No other friggen team for the whole day.
Should I even bother to look at other dates?
Well, to be fair...
The Red Sox and Yankees have had their fair share of successes, and dominate World Series highlights.
I'm a Diamondbacks fan myself, and there are some Yankees highlights I'd like to see cough:2001:cough
Dude--- the most pathetic thing is your whining. If you don't like the programming on any channel, don't watch it.
Aaargh. That's a disappointment. MLB must be expecting their providers to crush the hell out of it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with 1080i baseball if it isn't terribly recompressed. All the 1080i baseball I've seen via D* MLBEI looks great. 1080i baseball on my local NBC station with a weather subchannel looks pretty damn good too. TBS baseball looks great (1080i). People say WGN baseball looks great (1080i).
What I do know is that 720p baseball on Fox and ESPN looks like crap on my 50" 1080p plasma.
Your data is incomplete. I looked at TWENTY-NINE DAYS. And, yes, the Red Sox Memories show is on a lot but every cable channel repeats stuff within a calendar month. It is not like there are multiple Red Sox games.
Gee, and they are launching with a DODGER GAME!!!!
You assumed from a small sample and you were wrong. Give it up.
Eh. I see plenty of very good to excellent 720p baseball. Most of the EI games are in 720p (all the Fox sports nets are 720p). And ESPN should not look like crap anymore unless you are watching the 72 and 73 channels.
I think people are expecting too much out of a new network.
If the schedule described above is the same a year from now, complain then, because we rightfully should be.
People said the same thing about Reelz when it first launched. Give it some time and they'll adapt and add more programming. And if they don't diversify, complain then.
Relax. You are taking this way too seriously. I can tell you don't frequent sports threads too often???
Perhaps I should have used some smileys, as tone if not easily conveyed over the internet....
Only because they are playing the friggen Yanks. I wonder if a Dodger pitched a perfect game against the Yank, if they would lead with that??? :sure:
Looks like MLB doesn't even come on the air until 6pm on Thursday.
Another reason why it is better to live on the west (despite the east coast sports bias)....it starts at 3pm here.
Does anyone have a definitive answer if this will be available on the Family package? According to MLB.com: "It is free for everyone with cable to watch on TV". To me, that means that it will be available on the most basic of the basic packages.
