I was just noticing the reduction in posts here in the HR21 forum since VOD has been BETA released.
ANd I got to thinking , man.....D* as alot going on right now. It's a very exciting time.

    VOD
    D10
    H21
    HR21
    SWM

It's good to be a D* sub. :) This doesn't even include things I'm sure I fogrgot and don't know anything about

I started this here because i mentioned the HR21.

You got that right. I have been thinking the same thing. I love testing these new things and telling people how good Directv is getting. Especially with HD!

You're all right...kudos to D*TV on this unit, but we are getting antsy for a CE or update of some kind to do more testing.

The other thing that is taking some time is the fine tuning on the final version of the "First Look" piece, which is just about done, but needs to get some blessing before "official release." The timing will also depend on when D*TV OK's the appropriate date to publish this info. Earl is driving that for us.

I hope we all get a chance to review it before the first look is released to the public.

There are some "eyes" already destined for that job, but thanks for asking. Drew2K and I have plenty of hours in on our various revisions, updates, and improvements - its been a real team effort and taken a fair amount of time....but we love it.

We hope to have the "hopefully final" version to Earl this coming week, subject to his and D*TV's approval soon thereafter - no idea on a publish date. Obviously, D*TV controls when they want this to be made public.

Definitely a hand full, that's for sure. The good news is that we are all participating in this excitement :)

When you think about all this new HD hardware, firmware, and channels....it can make the head spin a bit.

They must have the R&D team working 24/7. :D

    Yep, very interesting point.

Sometimes you think, what's the delay.

Then when you think about it, they have an awful lot going on.

Getting the white GUI on all the units, supporting SWM everywhere, porting the HR20-700 code to the HR20-100 and the very different internal components in the HR21, H20 to H21 roll-out, working on the HR21 Pro, working on the D10 channel rollout, developing all of the new VOD code (which includes network ramifications and major back-end systems work) ...

Wow, alot all coming together ... fun times.

When I first read that, I thought it said "excrement." I know the HR21 has it's issues right now, but that is a little harsh!
