Wow...the new "My apps" really suck. What happened to them?

About the only thing it's good for now with me is checking into Get Glue and I do that because it's faster than using my phone. I've always used my phone for weather. It looks better but needs more options IMHO.
Also just noticed for college football, the score guide only shows top 25 schools. WTF good does that do for all the other schools? Huge fail. DirecTV needs to fix this fast.

Sent from the other side of the Milky Way with my S4.

I agree with many others here that the Directv Apps took a major step backwards.

Sure score card is better, and the PQ which makes no real difference either way.

Is it me or does the scoreguide app and others appear at random?

I'am trying to see if the apps are up to enable my fantasy team and the stupid app feature is down.

It was down almost all day yesterday as well and no matter how many reboots I give the stb's the apps just appear when they want.

This is all I keep seeing..

"Interactive applications for this feature are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"

I used it a lot yesterday(see this: http://www.dbstalk.com/topic/207634-new-hd-scoreguidescores/) so it must be something local for you. It does take a while after re-boots to load, but I've found that when I get that message, sometimes repeatedly pressing the "Right Arrow" will eventually bring it up. Just sayin'......

    Ok a heads up...

I just got off the phone with tech support and they had me rbr all my stb's at the same time while on and that did the trick...

    Everything is now working.

I called them about something else today and the CSR convinced me to get a Genie. One of her selling points was the apps (which I never use on my existing receivers) and the first one she said was "a Facebook app so you can check Facebook on your TV". I laughed so hard at that.

Is that really a selling point to some people - the ability to check FB on TV? Wow.

Just my opinion, but I would think that those who FB on TV appeals to the most would be ones who don't even own TV's. That group of the population seems to be the ones who use smart phones and tablets for everything - including viewing TV programming.

Yet I am sure there's a group that will use that, and let every "friend" know what they watch at every turn.

It - going to the Social Apps section just now- made me aware of GetGlue. Anyone use that? I might, but on my laptop.

and you can really "check" your FB on the DirecTV box, but rather post what you are watching. this app is very limited

Well, so much for experimentation. I added GetGlue to the Social TV app, and all it does is say "Loading", but it doesn't, and eventually the panel disappears on its own.

I've given up on Directv's apps. They are a confusing mess and have now become an annoying part of hitting the right arrow button. I wish I could just disable it. IMO Directv needs to either get it so it is fluid, makes sense, and is easy to use or get rid of it. Half hearted attempts usually end in disappointment for users.

The problem I have is the scores for games that have already ended show up on the last page/s of "Completed". You need to skip through all of the pages to get to the score of a game that may have just ended. DTV needs to resort the pages to the games just ending show up on the first page.

The text is small on a 24" TV, you almost need a magnifying glass!

For games that have ended, I go to laptop, iPad or iPhone if I can't wait to see the score. Usually, I can wait, as I'd have tuned it if if were that important. I am more likely to watch hi-lights in a half time show.

No, I don't want recent scores up front; I may be about to tune to a recording of that very game.

The app is useful to finding games and channels to record on.

24" is just fine if you're two feet away.........

Why even move them to the completed section? Just have today's scores with today's games. Period. I don't want to and will never use the scores for games from yesterday or the day before. That is what I have a computer, an iPad, an iPhone and more for. The scoreguide is useful for finding games to watch and knowing one is over so I can't watch it anymore is useful. Knowing a game ended three days ago is not.

This seems to have become a dead horse issue, but if I had to give the new Score Guide 2 a grade it would be a C-. It "looks" good but functionally wise its a failure. I don't know what the creator(s) of this feature originally had in mind but the second guide is no where as user friendly as the 1st scoreguide. (Print too small, response too slow, too much info, etc...)

Also, when I wake up early to check scores, I us to love bringing up the scoreguide to see what my teams did. I don't keep my laptop or phone as handy as my remote.
