WWE network will be in HD, I'd be very shocked if they didn't.

Looks like WWE Network would be in the sports tier as they sent out the following.

Imagine a 24-hour cable network that was run by The WWE. It featured a mix of WWE-made programs, including new shows, repeats of Raw and SmackDown from USA and Syfy and "classic" or "historical" programs featuring shows from different promotions like classic WWE footage, WCW, ECW, NWA, AWA, etc. from years past.

It would have two new weekly WWE live in-ring shows (wrestling), but not SmackDown or Raw.

It would have a daily live in-studio viewer interactive show similar to SportsCenter.

Additionally, this network would include WWE's "classic big 4" pay-per-view events including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble to the lineup at no additional cost. Rather than having to pay for them, they would now be specials with the same match quality you're used to seeing on pay-per-view for no additional cost. These 4 events would only be available on The WWE Network.

In addition to The WWE Network, you would receive approximately 30 additional channels including NFL Network, NBA TV, Biography Channel, Fox Business Network and Fuel TV.

How interested would you be in upgrading your service for an additional $7-$12 per month to a tier which would include the WWE Network described above?"

I wouldn't be interested in paying $7 let alone $12. I don't watch wrestling for one, but secondly I already have the other networks that are listed in your post. If I'm going to have to take a WWE add on for additional money to keep them I would be pissed. As would everyone else.

I don't know where you got this info that you posted, but it cannot possibly be talking about a pay tier on D*.

From the looks of this, my only guess is that the WWE network will seek to be at least on Choice Xtra/Ultimate or the Sports Pack.

Sports center isn't an interactive viewer show last time I saw it. And if they do start an interactive show, they'll screen it so only marks get through, or it will go the way their previous attempts at this type of show did, a new format that excludes that part. For those not familiar with their previous attempts, Livewire was designed to be this way (thus the name), and Excess did so as well.

It should be a premium channel. No need to force on the folks that won't watch it. If it gets enough subscribers over time you could just blend it into the sports pack or such.

This is basically argument A for any channel. I think this channel would automatically be picked up by Comcast, as they have a pretty sweet deal already with WWE for TV. DirecTV may consider it to boost their "Sports channel" diatribe, and I could see Dish holding out as they often do for sports properties.

As for the smaller cable companies, that remains to be seen, and may be the toughest challenge in carriage.

Though to me, would it not make more sense to give away the 8 "B" shows on the WWE Network, to make the "Big 4" more palatable to shell the nearly $60 per show they ask for? Sure the "Big 4" on cable make the network that much more valuable, but at what cost?

Dish & TW/BH will likely be (as usual) the last ones picking this up since it's a sports thing. BH/TW still don't even have the NFL Network.

trust me directv will get it. Alot of people watch WWE, alot of people who watch WWE already have directv.

I'm sure that WWE and directv already had discussion about it privatetly.

Im hoping WWE TV is not gonna be a separate pay channel but at least be added to the sports tier. I'm a WWE fan but wouldnt pay an extra $10 for old WWE videos.
