I am blacked out from seeing the yankees vs as's game on YES Network and I have the MLB Extra Innings package. It's not a national game as far as I know. Has anyone else seen this issue outside of New York?

Same thing here in VT. YES-HD blacked out. Oakland CSN feeds work fine, YES-SD, fine.

The pre-game was blacked out as well. Someone forgot to hit the switch.

One of you should probably call DirecTV. Posting here won't get it fixed.

I called once last year about the same issue. Was on the phone for 40 minutes trying to explain it to several different people.

It was actually pretty funny, they told me all about the blackout rules, sports packages, refreshing my receiver, checking my signal strength. I guess that was easier than telling me someone screwed up. :D

Sorry about that. On the bright side, now I know what that extra light switch in my attic does...

Yeah, it's pretty hopeless to try and work with CS on these types of issues -- and frustrating when you know the arcane blackout rules and that a game should be on in your area.

I love it when I call them and explain that the game is on in my living room but now working in my bedroom and they give me the same song and dance about blackout rules.

I set the game to record while I was at work and game search worked!! When I came home to watch it the YES feed on 631 that I had set was blacked out but game search changed the recording to the A's feed. That is a great feature for when the game gets blacked out for whatever reason and you are not home.

Too bad there isn't a Blackout issue hotline.. instead we have to call and talk to CSRs that have no idea that there really is a problem and that we don't need to hear the same old blackout verbiage because someone at D* screwed up.
