I am going to install a Zinwell SAM-4803 multi-switch and was wondering if I can conect the 4 wires from the satalite dish to inputs in any order or does the a specific cable need to be hooked up from the LMB to the 18V ,13V, 18V 22Khz,
13V 22Khz terminals. Thanks for any info

The 4 lines from the dish to the multi-switch does not matter what inputs you connect them to (just not the two flex ports).

But if you have a HR20 or H20 with a 5 LNB dish you will need a Zinwell WB68 multi-switch to receive the new MPEG4 HD channels that are about to launch.

Thanks Mike , You saved me a trip up on the roof. Just to be sure, which are the 2 flex ports? I don't think the 4x8 has them.

I am not sure if the multi-switch you have has 6 inputs or not. But if it does it is the two on the right are the flex ports.

    Bainbridge...
The SAM-4803 doesn't look like it has flex ports.

The satellite only has four outputs that connect to both the 4x8 and the 6x8. The 6x8 adds the two flex ports for the connection of exta dishes. Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure that is the reason it is a 6x8 instead of non-powered, wideband 4x8.

I think you missed the more important part of his post:
The Zinwell SAM-4803 will not work with the 5LNB dish and the new HD channels.

From the Zinwell website: Q: Can I use SAM-4803 for AT9 or AU9 dish (kaku 5 LNB dish)?
A: No, you cannot because SAM-4803 is a narrowband product. You can only use either WB68 or WB616 wideband multiswitch because AT9/AU9 are KaKu wideband applications.

if your dish has 3 seperate LNBs that can be removed individually instead of as one unit, and has no built-in multiswitch at the front (called a phase 1 oval dish), you must hook cables very carefully to the multiswitch, the non-22 khz must go to the 101 sat LNB, the 18v22khz must go to the combiner which goes to both 110 and 119, and the 13v22khz must go to the remaining 119 port.

If your dish is not that kind, any lead will do.

Just out of curiosity, what do the flex ports on the Zinwell WB68 do?
