I am constantly having problems with almost all xxx-1 temporary HD channels. I first noticed this on the Center Ice channels and then on Big 10 Network overflow channels a couple weeks ago. It's also happened with Sunday Ticket a couple times. I just get the D* logo instead of the game that's supposed to be on. I refresh the receiver on the website and reset it which will fix it for a day or so. Then the next day it won't work again. Anyone else experience this? Again it seems to only be occurring on the temporary HD channels.

I have a series recording for Project Runway on Lifetime ch. 252. Last week when I tried to watch the recording of part 1 of the season finale, it showed the program in the guide as 1 hr. recorded, but the instant I pressed Play, the "do you want to delete yes or no" message came up. Tried rewinding to the beginning, etc. but there was no program there...just the delete option. I deleted it and set it to record yesterday along with the finale part 2 during the marathon on Lifetime. Now it happened with BOTH episodes from last night...same exact thing. This has not happened with any other programs. Any suggestions or advice?

btw, Mine is a HR20-700 with v 0x368 software

eta: there were no recording conflicts and the history shows "recorded" for both part 1 at 6pm and part 2 at 7pm.

Here is the message I get on component when my HR20 is hooked up to one or multiple TVs via HDMI and component simultaneously.

"This program includes content protection that restricts viewing in the television attached using the HDMI connector"

It happens on any program btw.

I've never noticed this before. It seems to have started happening recently.

Im trying to have my HR20 go to it's local TV (Master Bedroom) via component and to a satellite TV (Living Room) via HDMI. Viewing in the Living Room is fine via HDMI but in the bedroom I get the above message, usually but not always right away. The Bedroom TV is connected to an HDMI switcher since it only has one HDMI input.

This also happens with my HR23 in the Living Room. I have the HR23 connected via HDMI and component to the same TV and when turning on another device via HDMI input 2 or 3 (XBOX 360, DVD Recorder) and I go to component to view the HR23 it gives me that same message as well.

I don't even quite understand what the message means. And is there any sort of work-around for this?

We are moving into a condo in Brooklyn where we have probably a 0.01% chance of getting permission to have a dish installed. I have a ton of programming that I need to catch up on (since I've been busy packing) so I would really like to be able to watch it after we're settled into our new place. I've already alerted D* of the change and asked them to suspend my account starting next week and that I would like to leave it suspended while I attempt to convince the building to allow a dish installation. As an incredibly happy D* customer of 9+ years, I'm sad that it's likely coming to an end.

If my goal is to be able to watch the remaining content on my HR20-700 (national release) while I check on the possibility of installing a dish... Does it matter that the IRD/DVRs were connected when I scheduled my account suspension for next week? Or is it only important that I have them disconnected from the dish before the scheduled suspension date?

I've read about a 13hour window during which the DVR will function without a satellite connection... What happens after 13 hours? Does it just reboot every 13 hours? Stop working altogether? Self explode? :) Any tips/ideas?

After reading some of the threads about this I realize there are people who do this for unscrupulous purposes and I can't stress enough that I'm only doing this because I haven't gotten permission to actually get a dish installed. Worst case I guess I could buy all of these programs on iTunes, but I would rather watch them on my plasma than a 15" computer screen. Any help that anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.

As a side note.... If I don't end up getting permission to keep D*, it will likely mark the end of my account activity here at DBSTalk, which is also a bit sad. As evidenced by my member ID (9562) I've been a member for quite some time. I'll really miss this place. So many good people and so many great ideas.

I've got a setup in my basement where the room is U-shaped, with the stairs being what occupies the center of one wall to make the U shape. One one side of the room, I have a 52" HDTV connected to an HR-20. On the other side, I have a 25" SDTV in the upper corner of the room above the bar connected to an old school SDTV that works just fine. From many parts of the room, you can see both sets at the same time without having to move.

Here's my problem:
When I turn the same thing on both sets, the SD broadcast is ahead of the HD broadcast by a few seconds so that any event in a sports broadcast will happen on one side of the room before the other side knows about it.

I'd like to sync these up while keeping the SDTV in service. When I finished my basement, I wired the room so that I could have RG6 connectivity between the SDTV side of the room and the place where the DVD player, HR-20, and HDTV sit. Assuming I'm using the proper converter to change the HR-20's RCA/S-video output to RG6, can I connect these two sets to the HR-20 and have it work? Do any of the options below provide a solution for a synchronized broadcast on both sets?

1. Run the HDMI output to the HDTV and the RCA/S-VID output to the SDTV (using a converter and connecting into SDTV using RG6) and they will broadcast simultaneously.
2. Connect the HDTV OUT to the SDTV IN with RG6 and they will broadcast simulatneously.
3. Other???

Any help is much appreciated!!!!

I think if DTV made it so the USB Adapaters worked and you could attach a 802.11N USB Wifi adapter to the box and sync it to a WIFI Cable and DSL Modem that would be cool. Or have DTV use their dish to access the Internet.
