UHF remote + TV + OTA on same coax?
I've got two coax cables. One from the Dish coming to a separator to the receiver. One going to the basement carrying the 2nd output over the coax via channel 22. We had problems with the UHF remote and so Dish came out and remoted the rcvr UHF antenna to the basement using a 2-way splitter. Looks like the diagrams shown at http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departme...otes/6.2.shtml under "extend UHF remote."
Now, I'd like to hang an OTA and use an existing coax (from a previous SuperDish that was removed) which already runs thru my basement. The question is, can I use a 3-way splitter to run the TV out down to the basement, the UHF remote extender, and the OTA?
Thanks...

Splitter, no. Third diplexer set, yes.

There are five diagrams at your link, and we know your setup looks like one of them. I wonder which one. Then you add that you want to add OTA on another cable that runs THROUGH the basement. Does that cable continue on to where the receiver is? If so, then yes, you can run a 3 way (or a 2 way with another 2 way into one of its connectors) to combine UHF Remote, TV2 Home Dist, and OTA onto a single coax going back down to the basement. That wouldn't require any diplexer itself - they are only needed when you combine DBS (> 950 MHz) with the other signals (< 950 MHz).
But there's a chance you ARE using diplexers now. They certainly are present in the diagrams you say match your setup. But if you have one cable from the dish to the receiver, and a 2nd coax from the receiver to the basement, there is no need for a diplexer.
Previous replies may be correct - I just can't make out if the OTA on an existing coax from an old Superdish is either one of your two initial coax cables mentioned, or where it goes TO (as opposed to thru).
