Surprisingly good, but when I checked, it was letterboxed, not filling the screen?

If trading spaces is still on the air, that show used to get some air time on Discovery HD Theater. I wouldn't get too worked up about the guide data just yet.

And I'm almost sure LA Ink is in HD as well.

I know American chopper is an HD show. but it currently looks like poo on TLC HD

Lots of noise and pixelation when its moving. still images look sharp as hell. might be a source issue. but yea. not the best on this show.

I thought American Chopper looked pretty good, at least, as good as it looks on Disc HD Theater

I only watched a few minutes of American Chopper last night since it was a repeat but I had it set to record because I delete my SD version of the series link and set it for the HD version.

For the couple of minutes that I did watch it the PQ and audio was great.

I will finish watching it some time this weekend and see how the rest of it is.

I must say, American Chopper last night was razor sharp. One of the best pictures I've seen yet. WOW!

THIS CHANNEL IN HD IS POINTLESS.

Almost NOTHING is in HD. It is eithe pillar boxed or stretched 9/10 times.

What a waste.

I was flipping through the HD channels tonight and came across Trading Spaces on TLCHD, and boy did it look really good. Now if TLC (and the rest of the Discovery networks) could just get the rest of their shows looking this good, I'll be really happy.

Just read that Paige Davis is coming back to Trading Spaces. Now that will be a show that I would watch and it will be filmed entirely in HD.

Anyone know why 1/2 the HD shows are not 16x9 widescreen?

They are wider than SD but leave ~2" black bars on each side of my 52" set

Those are actually not HD, the are 4x3 shows upconverted and then zoomed to 14x9, which is why you still see narrow pillar bars on each side.

Then why do they put up the TLC HD logo for these shows, but not when there's obvious SD content?
