What about the DOD shows ?
I dont get Starz....but what if i dvr a movie on the Starz DOD channel on june 18 during the preview & lets say its expiration date is june 28....can i still watch it on june 24 after the preview is over ?
edit: yep as miket says those DODs arent available during previews.

I believe in the past free previews didn't include access to on demand at all.

This is a nice little perk from D*.It comes at the best time as I won't be keeping the FREE HBO/STARZ/SHO pack after it runs out. It was a nice perk from D* but it is not a good value for the money. Of course that is not really D*s fault. Too many repeats, not enough variety, and too expensive.

In the past I've recorded movies that were offered during a free preview only to find that after the preview period has passed I was unable to view the movie because that premium channel wasn't in my package.
Works great during the preview, but no guarantee that you'll be able to fill up your eSATA drive with movies and watch them later.

Really? I have always recorded a bunch of movies and have always been able to watch them after the preview period is over. I hope they haven't changed this. |

Showtime is the only premium channel I officially get, and the movies I recorded from the HBO free preview last month are definitely still viewable on my HR21-700 -- as well as movies from other HBO and Starz/Encore free previews going back over a year. (Before I upgraded to HD, I had a couple free-preview movies that were going on two years old on my DirecTiVo.  )

HBO schedule change
HBO just sent out a press release stating:
"World Championship Boxing: Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye, scheduled for Saturday, June 20 @ 4:45pm, has been cancelled.
No boxing will air on HBO that day."
Haye pulled out of the fight due to injury. It has been announced that WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev is replacing Haye. We inquired with HBO if the change of opponent caused the network's change in plans. Here was the response from an HBO Sports spokesman:
"HBO bought Klitschko vs. Haye for June 20. Unfortunately, that fight is no longer available to us. So, Ross Greenburg and his staff elected to pass on a replacement fight and be poised to do another heavyweight fight, hopefully, with Wladimir Klitschko, in the fall."
EDIT: ESPN Classic will now show the fight.

I very good list of shows/movies.
What's scary is that I've seen all but 3 of them at least once before.
