Error in Flyer

I know the advertisement says the 11th but the DirecTV website says the 9th.

Um, Joel, as we have said repeatedly, NO. The website does not give a day, it only gives the month and year (in two digit format), thus what you're reading is November, 2009. It has been already been reported here (read the first two posts:http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.ph...87#post2260187) by the most reliable source we have that this coming Wednesday is the date for the launch of Missoula locals. Besides, do you actually think DirecTV would get their own advertising wrong?

One of our local channels had a clip on that also stated the 9th (not just 2009) and it's posted on their website here: http://www.keci.com/Some-Local-TV-Si...ellite/5581239

Being that they probably work hand in hand with the engineers to get the feed going, I would assume they know the correct date.

Either way, we'll see tomorrow.

Btw, if you're referring to the advertisement I posted, It's not DirecTV's own advertising. It clearly states on the ad: 'Directstartv, an authorized DirecTV retailer' making it very possible to be wrong.

Well, we'll know in 6 hours.

Oh, in all my time keeping the DBSTalk HD LiL lists, I don't remember a single Monday morning launch. An occasional Thursday or Friday launch, but never a Monday launch. Also, even with all my experience in charting HD LiL launches, I STILL defer to Satelliteracer.

I just checked the guide. No locals. I spoke with D* this weekend to schedule and upgrade for 'Tues, NOV 10' and the CSR made the comment that I would have the equipment ready for the locals on 'Wed, NOV 11'.

They are up and in the guide this AM. 6 Channels. An installer told me yesterday as he was installing new recievers (HR20-700 and H21) that D* was going to broadcast in SD for a while to ensure they were correct before they went HD?? ABC and NBC appear to be in HD, but CBS isnt?? It may be the show, but it is the morning news program. The CBS is showing pillar boxes and the others aren't. Not sure if that means it is in SD or not.

*MODS - Not sure if this is suppose to go into the HD-LiL broadcast issue thread. There wasn't a thread specific to Missoula. Please move if this post should go there. Thanks

Missoula MT

Directv old local lookup tool(now working again) shows:

Fox/MNT 24 : NBC 13 : CBS 8 : ABC 23 and PBS 11 as HD with
CW 9 as MPEG4 SD.

Pillar box format probably means an HD channel with SD programming at that moment.

Missoula has a D* call center. That would be my guess as to why they got the locals.

will i have to change my programming package now that locals are available? i noticed that my package still says Premier - No Locals but there is a Premier available that lists locals as included.

If this the case how long from ordering the new package till the new channels are active?

Thanks for the help! I just started with Direct about 2 months ago

Can anyone confirm?

Swandive, the Local channel lookup tool you're looking at-is it the graphic one with all the logos? That one does not seem to be updated yet. The one that bamaweather posted (and that I use to maintain the HD LiL lists) is usually the most accurate one. Bookmark the link if you're going to need to refer to it again. It can be hard to find otherwise.

I signed up the other day. It was virtually instant after signing up online to being able to view them. (walked from basement office to upstairs living room). I can confirm the channels are up. I put them on my fav list this morning.

Do you subscribe to locals? Do you have the appropriate equipment to get these channels? (Dish, receivers)
