I hope this doesn't hurt Sirius XM more than they are already hurting. I will be truly sad if satellite radio goes away...

I,would be disappointed a little if Directv moves away from XM/Sirrus the sound quality is great.Especially notice it when I,switched from Comcast over 3yrs. ago from their music choice which they use.It would be nice if Directv keeps the service to add Seriously Sinatra which, would fill the void over a year ago when XM,s standards was dropped .

They'll have holiday music. DIRECTV music channels have always included holiday music, even before they were provided by XM.

Music Choice was better quality, IMO. I am not all that impressed with XM sound quality.

It would be nice if we could sample SonicTap's programming in advance. Hard to tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing until they make the switch.

Some strange channel comparisons in there...must be a database thing.

The Spa - Familiar Favorites
A Taste of Italy - Italian Bistro Blend
The Spectrum - Italian Contemporary
Top 20 on 20 - Irish
The 80s - Tranquility

That Sirius-XM merger has sure worked out well for everyone, hasn't it?

Seriously, though, I'll withhold judgment until I know how the replacement turns out. I have to assume it's a cheaper alternative for D* to carry.

I've never been happy with XM radios quality, the DTV version was much better IMHO. I've canceled my XM sub since I never listen to it anymore because of the quality and since getting Slacker on my Blackberry, I was blown away with quality they deliver.

I liked the fact that I could be listening to an XM Station on my Directv and then go out and get in my car and I would be listening to the same song because I was tuned to the same XM station in my car.

Kinda Cool!!!

Sonic Tap... this is what used to be called Digital Music Express (DMX), right? The service that used to be on Primestar way back when? The same service our cable company (Comcast) once had before switching to Music Choice (what DirecTV had before going to XM)? I have no idea how it's like now, but I kinda liked it back when I last had a chance to listen to it some years ago.

Ticks me off - I have a lifetime XM sub, but listened at home via DirecTV...Now Ill need to undock the receiver from the car and bring it inside.

Edit to add: I just found this link to add XM Online to Vista/Windows 7 gadgets and it works great (for those of you with online or lifetime subs):

Same here.

Looking at the new offerings...it might just entice me to consider using SonicTap for some of their new content.

I never listen to any of the xm music... I doubt I'll listen to their replacement... Juist add more TV, if I want music I can listen to a CD, my stereo or media share.

As long as Boombox pumps out the Ole School hits like BackSpin, I could care less. I am not happy unless I hear Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick at least 2 times a day!

Yes, if you check out the D* link at the beginning of this thread, it appears holiday music will be on channel 815 "Holiday & Happenings".

Too bad -- I kinda like the DJs on Sirius XMU (which is pretty much the only XM channel I listen to via DirecTV).
