I just (yesterday) received a JVC HR-7800U from Crutchfield.com. I believe it may be a close out but it's discounted down from $350 to 200. Even with shipping (I received it in less than 48 hours after placing the order) it only came to $210. This is a real s-vhs and though I've only used it one night thus far (and only on regular vhs tapes) thus far I love it. It's TBC (time based correction?) does even clean up previously recorded tapes and it's ET function seems to work great. Anyway, that's my opinion and you might want to check it out at crutchfield.com
