Tidewater Tides, were renamed Norfolk Tides. Triple A farm team for the NY Mets. I think Tidewater was just a nickname for all the cities, since the market has so many cities in it. Norfolk/Portsmouth/Newport News..hampton/virgina beach/chesapeake.

WAVY continues as the pre-season Washington Redskins station.

Since Baton Rouge is still out of the picture, after Norfolk & New Orleans
become available. Charlie can brag, as the first satellite provider to have the
top 94 markets and First to carry 99 of the top 100.

The EPG name has not changed and the channel was reported by viewers to actually be KCTS 9 Seattle. I have reason to believe that may have changed. Input from viewers is needed to confirm this.

(cuz not all viewers come to this thread, HERE)

I've heard two reports on these channels.

1) there is a signal issue. The stations aren't providing a good enough signal

2) Retransmission concent. Dish and the stations have not reached a retransmisson concent agreement and Dish cannot legally rebroadcast the stations until they reach a deal.

If number 1 is true, as soon as Dish can get a "good" signal, they will make the stations available.

If number 2 is true, then it could tak a day, a week or for ever to get the deal through. It's really up to the local channel or station group owner.

See ya
Tony

Apologize for the newbie question, but what does all this mean to me as a Dish Network user?

Not much, unless you are interested in one or more of the channels listed.

The listing is a collection of changes made on the satellite channels.

maybe nothing.. (unless some of it really concerns you)

Most of the above - is just a statistical information .. for "channel list", EPG content and Transponder issues.., and Channel Junkies.. like few of us here..

But "Locals info" (the entire market or any new single channel's addition or subtruction for example) is IMPORTANT (but again.. ONLY for the ones that care) for the ones living in those areas..

Great news about Norfolk locals coming soon.

Now...... about the Super Dish..........

Currently using DISH 500 for 2 DISH Players.

What would be the best match to my Dish Players to convert to once the Norfolk locals become available?

I don't really want to spend a fortune, but just looking for some PVR options, and not sure what would be the closest match to my 2 Dish Players?

501s, 508s, 510s, 522s ...maybe... - if just Dishplayer with HD.. (better and faster by the way then older 7100/7200.. IMHO anyhow (i could be wrong though))
