Can you say the World Series in HD on Dish?
A few at Dish rumored that the playoff was going to go up last Wednesday but that didn't happen. If I were a betting man I would say it's FOX HD (but just for the World Series)

Never happen on that listing. There are 7 DISH-on-Demand PPVs and a couple of other channels on that Tp.

Yeah your correct, when I saw it this morning I read the channel number as being in the HD area. Thats what happened when I read before I actually wake up
They do need to get the events channel back up soon for NBA HD this year, so I expect that will be coming soon.
GO SOX!

They are playing games with DayStar, Need someone at the "wheel" that knows what to do.
9408 DYSTR has left the EPG even though the data is still in the stream.
9405 is in the EPG as DAY and has Off Air in the EPG. This channel is tied to DATA3 according to the system.
Someone at EchoStar needs to fix the situation.

Could it have something to do with the dozen mirrors.
For those that don't know, Dish now have the following mirrors of Daystar (9408) set up in the transponder bit stream at 110° tp 15
I posted this in the other forum. Anyone who lives in the following cities, please check to see what you see on the following channels:
Channel - City
7327 Charleston/Huntington, WV
8207 Denver, CO
8333 Phoenix
8383 Houston
8415 Dallas - KDTN is now on 8415 but at 148°
8460 Indianapolis - WDTI is now on 8460 but at 61.5°
8600 St. Louis - The local Pax station was originally listed here years ago but never uplinked
8622 Seattle
8783 Boston
8899 Oklahoma City
8909 Honolulu
9359 Little Rock
BTW channel 9405 has the following slate:
"Attention Daystar Viewers
A programmer has enforced its contractual right to prohibit Dish Network from carrying this channel in your area. Dish Network sincerally regrets any inconvenience. For more info call 1-800-329-0029 or go to www.daystar.com"
The "programmer" is, of course, Sky Angel.
See ya

Yeah, probably is the situation.
Just thinking they may have a problem with the Honolulu feed being on 110 conus rather than the 119 spotbeam, but that is the way it has been.
The situation would seem to be fixed, except some of those markets are not getting the feed, yet.

My opinion of Sky Angel is VERY low right now concerning how they are handling all of this. I don't think their subscriber count was THAT affected by Dish having FamilyNet and Daystar. I'll be glad when Sky Angel is left in the dust in a couple years because they have been riding Dish's coattails instead of building their OWN satellite.

I'm in Indy, and I noticed a slate on 8460 (WDTI - Daystar). It said Daystar is no longer at this channel location. Please tune to channel 9408. Is Dish planning on bringing it BACK to that location as a mirror later on or what? 9408 is coming in JUST fine for me, and I don't see the slate on 9405. Anybody else in any of these markets see this too?

Ogre,
Is the slate you're getting from 61.5 or 110? I'm wondering if this is a mistake or by design? I would have thought that the dozen mirrors would be to get Daystar on this channels.
My guess is that the local indy and Dallas Daystar channels are history!

Probably. Any sign of a FamilyNet national mirror?
BTW: I'm getting 9405 "DAY" with the pulled card. It is interesting that they are going to burn 9408 for this use.

Which points you to http://www.daystar.com/dishnetwork.htmJoni and I are so sorry that Daystar has been taken off of the DISH Network nationally. This happened because Dominion Sky Angel won a recent Arbitration proceeding against EchoStar, the owner of the DISH Network. However, Daystar was not allowed to be a part of the Arbitration.
Daystar has been carried on the DISH Network nationally for almost two years. We appreciate the Dish Network and their efforts to keep Daystar on. There is no explaination of what is going on with 9408.

Tony, I'm not sure if the slate is from 61.5 or 110. I don't know how to check. I'm assuming 61.5 since WDTI was on 61.5, but I'm not sure.

I think if you switch to the channel in question and then go to the Menu, then 6, 1, 1. The satellite and TP indicated should be where the channel in question is located.

That is correct. You tune to the channel you want to chech then go directly to the "point dish" screen. DO NOT press the Guide button unless you want to see what trasnponder the guide you are looking at is coming from.

I live in Indianapolis. I don't know if the following information helps with your research, but I thought I would chime in:
Channel 8460 WDTI: Guide shows "Off Air". When I tune to 8460, I get the slate "Daystar is no longer located at this channel number. Daystar can now be found on channel 9408." When I checked with "Point Dish", I found that 8460 is coming from sat 61.5 on tp 30.
Channel 9405 DAY: Guide shows "Off Air". When I try to tune to 9405, I get the pop-up box: "This program has been blacked out in your area." Therefore, I cannot tune to the channel to determine the satellite.
Channel 9408 DSTAR: Guide shows the regular programming schedule. When I checked with "Point Dish", I found that 9408 is coming from sat 110 on tp 15.
I hope this info helps.

That all makes sense.
One slate has been mapped to the local daystar channels telling people to view daystar on 9408.
Another slate is explaining to people why they can no longer view daystar and is blacked out to those who can receive daystar
9408 is still active but now has been blacked out to those who are not eligible for daystar.
so the local day star stations have been removed and will be using the national feed.
You'll notice the updated channel page lists the eligible markets: http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/p...p?NetwID=50497

I'm sure this has been discussed before but not since I joined. How does one change transponder and save the change? For example here in Dallas, if I'm watching E*s HD demo channel it is on 61.5, transponder 02 with a signal strength of 82. If I manually change the transponder to 14 the signal strength jumps up to 93. However once I back out of the setup menu, change channel, then go back to the HD demo channel, back into the setup menu it has defaulted back to transponder 2. I would think that the system would save the last change. Just curious.

There is no way for the user to change the transponder that a particular channel is transmitted on.

Finally!!! It is really annoying to have one net missing from the locals lineup!
I wonder what the holdup was... Could it be that when you call the station you get the station and the Lawton, OK cable company? Possible conflict of interest? No... a company that owns both the cable company and the local channel would never have negotiating issues with a satellite company like Dish!

They would be fools if they did. Being the "missing local" or the one that takes more work to see (like tuning on a local antenna instead of EPG) is LESS LIKELY to be watched, and the advertisers less likely to be seen. And unless that is the #1 station in the market and a must have for satellite subscribers, extortion won't lead to carriage nor will the lack of the channel lead to jumps to cable.
Cable hasn't reached every home within the DMA. Stations GAIN more viewers by being on satellite than satellite programmers lose from not carrying a certain local.
BTW: It's amazing how much broadcast television I have not missed in the 19 months since I bought my house, moved to satellite and stopped getting integrated locals (locals were not available until 7 months ago). There are nights where there is "nothing on" until I switch over to the antenna and watch OTA. But my first choice for entertainment is whatever is in the EPG, and often the 2nd choice is a DVD rerun before seeing what is on broadcast. A station that refuses to be on my EPG is cutting it's own throat.
