Zone Alarm 6 Is Here

New Features Include

-Triple Defense Firewall
-Anti Spyware Features
-Smart Defense Services

http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...s/whatsNew.jsp

When I used the Check For Updates feature in ZA Pro, it kept telling me I was up to date, with 5.5094 but obviously I was not.

I renewed my subscription for two years earlier this year. Checkpoint might be the reason it's not coming down at this time. They seem to have decided that a subscription doesn't actually give you the right to download, that's extra...

Extended Download Service

The Extended Download Service (EDS) costs $6.95 USD in addition to price of the products purchased on the same order.

Zone Labs offers the EDS as an optional extra service. If you choose to add EDS to your order, you will be able to download the software you have purchased for a period of one year after the date of purchase. If you do not purchase EDS, you will be able to download the software you have purchased for 30 days from the date of purchase.

Benefits

* Always have access to a complete, current installation of your security products
* Be able to reinstall software after a computer or hard drive crash
* Move your software to a new computer easily (you must have a valid license for each computer)

To access the EDS, log in to your account at http://www.zonelabs.com/myaccount, click on "View Order History," then on "View Details." Your software will be available with a simple click of the "Download Again" button.

Yeah, downloading the eval and using your license key works.

Verified that myself this morning.

Well,, I downloaded and installed. What a pain in the arse the OS firewall is. You will get popups for everything and for some strange reason,, it doesnt want to remember that you had checked the 'always' box. I even had the zone alarm program itself popup that svcs host was trying to accept connections from the internet and recommended that I always deny it. It may just be my system or me,, kinda buggy but I do like the extra security and the spyware checker seemed to do a thorough job.

Fo gigure, I had "Email Updates" turned off. I got the new dl, and after having a few probs with the "update" option, I backed off that and did a clean install. No probs with that option. I'm ZAPing again!

great, now I can't seem to access anything. Links that are in e-mails will not work and I can't seem to get on some of the poker sites I use.

I've (and many other people I've talked to) have always had periodic issues with Zone Alarm not remembering what programs you want accessing the internet. After I would install a fresh copy of ZA and I would go on the Internet for the first time, I'd get the pop up, Do you want Internet Explorer to be allowed to access the internet zone, I'd check always remember this response and allow it access. a week and a half later I would get the same thing twice in one day, then not see it again or another month, if ever. It happened with pretty much any program and at random. That was fixed a while back, now thee are similar problems with the Smart Defense. I disabled the damn thing after it gave me hell with the MilkDrop visualization in Winamp.

I have never had Zone Alarm fail to remember an application.
