Searching for program guide?

For the last two days my picture will black out and say "searching for program guide" and then the picture will come back. It happens @ once every hour or two and on all of my receivers. It only happens for @ 5 seconds, but is really annoying. Any thoughts?

More information please? What model receivers? What dish are you using? What type of signal strength are you getting?

I've been having the same problem this evening. It's happened on more than one receiver, but it's not happened at the same time on the receivers. But it's been virtually every half hour or so.

That being said, I was able to get a hold of Directv Tech support via the phone earlier this evening and when I explained the situation to the representative she replied by saying I was the 4th such person she's heard this from. And I'm sure there's more than 1 person answering the phones, so it's hard saying how many calls on this they've had. Anyway, she put me on hold for a few minutes to check and see what the problem could be, and she came back and told me it was a software glitch on their end and said the problem should be rectified sometime during the weekend.

I am having the same problem on my 3 D-10 100's. I forced a software download last night but it had no effect even though it said new software found. I guess i have no choice but to sit here and wait. Did D* spool new software within the last 2 days?

So far, It's unique to people who live in 72.5 markets for locals. A software upgrade went out earlier this month (102A or 109A or something like that.) What it has to do with 72.5 locals is TBD.

I'm not sure what all that means, but I have been having some of the same problem over the past two weeks. In my case, it may be a bad tuner. See my signature for my equipment.

Just spoke to technical support regarding this. They assured me that the problem will be corrected tonight. They said that it will not require a manual download of new software. They also said it is in the 72.5 market. Hopefully they will get this fixed.

Not sure about anybody else, but it appears the problem has been fixed where I'm at.

They had this problem at my gym in Fairfax VA. They would lose 7 of 9 sets every afternoon for a couple of weeks. All that was left was Fox News and their music video channel which I assume were on a second dish. Our locals are on the main satellite.
