Dish 501 for sale, *SOLD*
501 for sale $175, includes receiver, remote, UPS ground shipping and insurance. It was new in April '01. The card has never been out, no hacks, no mods, no PPV balance. The unit has locked up a couple times. All I ever had to do was hold down the power button on the receiver to reset it. I've never lost any recordings. It has the latest software, 165.
This does not include the dish or lnbf. They were installed very nicely on my roof and I'd like to keep them in place in case I want to go back to Dish (plus I really don't want to climb up there and take them down).
When I signed up for Dish I expected my local Milwaukee channels to be added soon. But it still hasn't happened. Plus my regular tv antenna is falling apart. So I'm going to get a Tivo or UTV and Milwaukee locals with Directv instead of having a new antenna installed.
Except for no locals, I've been very happy with the 501 and Dish in general.
ps. I think this is a great website. Thanks to those who do all the work.

Hi RBJ and welcome to DBSTalk!
Anyone who wants a 501 should snatch this up! That's a great price.

How much do these retail for now? $300 retail? Even though it is not a 508 it still looks like a very good price.

If you want to register with dbstalk you could send me a private email. Or you could post your email address or phone number here and I'll respond privately.
Also, I've had a couple requests for paypal payments. I would rather not register with paypal and have another company have my name, address, phone, bank acct # or cc# just for a one time sale.
I would prefer to have a money order or certified check sent to me, then I would send out the unit. Or better yet find a buyer near Milwaukee and actually make the sale in person (such a quaint concept).
I'm not trying to hide anything. I just can't tolerate any more telemarketing calls. And I'm starting to get tired of all the crap in the mail also.

Trying to register
I am trying to register, and I am waiting for an email to come so I can complete the registration. Until then I am dead in the water it appears, and like you I don't need anymore spam. Hopefully my email will come soon (its been about 2 hours since I filled out the registration).
If you have bona-fide offers from others I hope you are not waiting on me. I haven't even cleared this purchase with the boss, though I know she would love to have another 501.
