I'm just watching now. Looks better on D* then it looked on Comcast. Looks a lot better over those sneak peaks also.

Closed captioning confirmed--well timed--and on music! Impressive. And...Justin Timberlake is on my TV, moaning that he's bringing sexy back, so now I must burn the otherwise loyal TV. I'll go start the bonfire.

Wow! That looks great. I haven't watched MTV in a while, but after watching some MHD this morning, I might sample it a bit more.

D** is doing a great job of rolling out the HD channels.

Is it safe to assume that this channel addition on a non-Wednesday is an exception so they could air in time for the hip hop awards, or might we see more pleasant suprises like this again on other days of the week?

Excellent picture quality! I haven't turned the surround receiver on yet (wife's still in bed).

My LCD TV has 1:1 pixel mapping (both heavenly and hellish), and this is the first of the new HD channels that shows a VERY thin grey line down the very far left side of screen. NBC national HD feed does too, along with HDNet (though down the right side of the screen). This is not D*'s fault, but rather MHD, NBC & HDNet. They have to understand that people are starting to get 1:1 pixel mapping TV's (i.e., TV's that have NO overscan and show every singe pixel it receives). I can adjust my TV's overscan a little, but it then actually crops out TOO much of the picture.

<shrugs> oh well....still a GREAT picture!

Okay, I am away from my TV for the time being...

Is anything actually in HD? Music videos? If so I may have to actually check this channel out.

My thoughts exactly. Except MHD is not found on remote booking and I'm getting an error when I try to find "Dixie Chicks" even though I now there is a VH1 Storytellers on them today at 3 (at least according to the MHD website).

ETA: I did a manual recording on remote booking, so we'll see if that works.

I was wondering what was up with this channel for I was on channel 77 at around 10:00 last night and 332 MHD was one of the channels that was on the list of HD channels now available and I tried to go to it but it was not there yet.

I guess they had went ahead and updated their slide on 77 showing it available even though it was not until this morning.

Was anyone watching at the exact time they switched over?

Did they play 'Video Killed The Radio Star'?

That would have been cool.

So is MHD a simulcast of MTV or is it a separate channel?

The content is a nice mixture imo. MTV, VH1 and CMT programming in HD.

They seemed to be showing a bunch of country music so I changed it... then I turned it back right at the end of "Where'd You Go" by Fort Minor... I love that song but I missed it!!! Aggh!!!

I'd like to point out that Britney Spears' self-destruct performance should be on at 1am.

Nothing like watching a career end in 1080i.
